I like the atmosphere. We’ve tried croissant, blueberry muffin and cinnamon roll for the sweet tooth, which were great. Also very yummy was the egg florentine. For a little more spice in live, try the chili sauce.

Keidas is a cute coffee shop in Kallio, where I sometimes go to work in the afternoon. The coffee and the atmosphere is great, and the staff is friendly, albeit not overly attentive. The food is okay, nothing special, but not bad in any way either. That said, I haven’t eaten my way through the whole menu, I’ve only had soup, quiche and cake. In short, an awesome place to have a some coffee and hang out.

I had high hopes for Galleria Keidas after seeing reviews, reading things online, and hearing about it from friends. But overall it was disappointing. I showed up on a Tuesday afternoon. There were some people in the café who had already ordered their drinks and there was only one person working, so she was busy making their drinks. Not a problem, but there was also no greeting or acknowledgement that we were there, nor was there any kind of «I will help you in a moment» explanation. So we just stood there waiting for about five minutes. Finally we ordered and I asked which of the food available was vegan. The answer? None. Now I get that lots of bakeries and cafes don’t have vegan food. But that means I seek out places that do. And when your business advertises itself as having vegan options but it turns out to not be the case, it’s just disappointing. On a positive note, I did have a cup of coffee and even though it wasn’t specially filtered, it tasted quite good. So there’s that.

Brunch is a tad on the pricey side(18,50 €). But totally worth it for the selection and the porridge, excellent local coffee, cheeses, the variety of desserts and the yogurt! Plenty of vegetarian options. Everything is made in the nearby bakery in Vallila. Fresh and local.
