We had the jubilee menu which was excellent. Porcini soup silky and sweet, grilled char and a chocolate mousse with raspberry sorbet. Accompanied by jubilee Riesling, great finish fare for a fare price in a cosy atmosphere, go and try it.

Kuukuu was right down the street from the hotel I was staying so came here with my sister and brother in law. It was a nice night out so we decided to eat alfresco! It’s a fairly quiet street so sitting outside doesn’t give you much to look at but it was nice either way. The service on the patio was still quick(servers tend to forget alfresco diners, IMO). I got a Karhu beer(what I could gather from the all Finnish label and taste, it was an ale of some sort) and the Finnish meatballs. The meatballs are hearty, filling and tender. Might give the slightly better known Swedish meatballs a run for their money. The main dish was under 20 euros which, for Helsinki, wasn’t too bad. I’d absolutely come back again next time I’m in town. Big ups to the guy who was our server– we dined with a rather rambunctious 1 year old but he was super nice about it :) Thumbs up!
