Attached to Hotel Torni, O’Malley’s is one of my favorite Irish pubs in Helsinki. I hadn’t been to the place in a few years before this Thursday night visit, friend in tow. It’s definitely less rowdy than the other Irish joints you’ll find around the city. I came expecting a good on tap selection, and was not disappointed — started with a couple Founders All Day IPAs. The barkeep was super friendly. It didn’t take long for our Fish & Chips orders to arrive — vinegar, lemon, newspaper and all — at which point we added a few Guinness pints. O’Malley’s used to be *the* place for Fish & Chips in Helsinki. Maybe they still are, but I remembered enjoying the dish more a few years back. Despite the plate changing, it was still tasty and the overall pleasant experience made for a good start to the evening. I recommend the place and I’ll visit again.

Netter Platz. Lustig, urig, feine Sache!

This is a place that I would imagine to be a TRUE irish pub. When I was there the last time, they had a band sitting down around a table and playing irish music. Lots of beers and whiskeys, a good variety of ciders too. The staff knows their products and can help you decide what to take. I love the interior and they have a nice terrace too, not the best to take sun in though.

Best Irish bar in town for sure! Nice selection of beers, sometimes real live Irish music and of course very friendly staff. It’s big too so there is always space to breathe, well not on the weekends, but that’s no surprise. Nice summer terrace and a private lounge room with bar, if you pay for the room that is.
