Despite this being a «themed» restaurant, it was probably the best food we had in Helsinki over he Christmas and New Year break. The reindeer was perfectly cooked, reindeer salami very tasty, pork well seasoned, and root vegetable cooked just long enough to be tender but not mushy.
Too bad the house beer was below average as well as the recommended cider.
Overall good for eats but not for drinks.

This place is awesome in terms of theme and decorations! Everything is Viking themed, and it’s a great atmosphere. The waiters and waitresses are dressed like Vikings, the menu has «The Voyage to…» as dishes as well as meals on swords and shields. Every menu item is Viking themed. The walls are decorated, there are props on the ceiling and on the walls, and even the water pitcher and cups are themed!
The food is pretty tasty too. I ordered a salad because I wasn’t too hungry, and it was quite flavorful and refreshing. I really like the sauce they put on it; it was pretty light, and the salad was fresh. Yum! My friends got meat dishes, one of which had a lot of meats on a sword. Very interesting, and he was really excited to eat it. Lots of food! The salmon soup that another friend ordered wasn’t as good though, because it was very salty and just had a big chunk of salmon in it. The flavor was also somewhat odd.
Anyway, awesomely decorated and themed restaurant; very fitting for Scandinavia. I would suggest checking it out, and just beware your wallet might be a bit sad after this meal.

It may come across as a tourist trap but this Viking themed restaurant can be quite a fun experience! The whole place is made-​up to look like a Viking tavern, the waitresses are dressed like servants and they hand you a Viking helmet to make you feel like you fit in :) service was poor, a bit slow for a not so busy Thursday night. They made a mistake on my order (brought the wrong dish) but after I accepted it anyway, they offered a discount which I thought was nice. But when the bill came no discount given (which was not nice!)… Also this was the first time in a Finnish restaurant that I was charged for tap water!

Although its themed like a viking disneyland Harald serves good food and the service is superb. The place is surprisingly packed so reservations are needed and the cost is above average pricing in Helsinki. The place’s own beer is good and the meat well made from quality ingredients.

Heard quite a bit about this place so thought I’d give it a go. The Viking theme is definitely fun, and although it was quiet in the rest of the restaurant I could hear a private party in the function room having a blast, slamming beer goblets together etc.
The décor is pretty good and their own brand honey beer was actually really good.
I had a steak and potatoes effort. Wasn’t particularly flavourful, and they just seem to coat everything in a cheesy sauce. I asked for the steak medium rare, and it came just about medium. Sent it back, and it came back perfect cooked, but not that juicy so I’m guessing they defrost their meat. Without demanding anything, I noticed a 10% discount off my main course, so that was admirable.
I imagine when busy, and if you go with a group of friends this place would be a good laugh. Might go back again sometime.

I think the real name of the place is Vikiinkiravotola Harald. Interesting Viking theme restaurant. Large portion serving and the food is decent… go for the reindeer meat. I enjoyed the restaurant partly because I was with good friends, and the atmosphere allows you to carry out a conversation without screaming.

Ok, this is all just a bit too much for me, a viking themed restaurant. Just not my cup of tea. The food was good, not stunning for the prices they have. I had to try reindeer of course once while in Finland. Great taste, very tender meat. Fish on a stone as a starter was good too. Alltogether just had too many problems overcoming the theme. The place is big and well suited for groups.

First time having Scandinavian food and the experience is AMAZING! Love the atmosphere, music and even the dress-​up of the waitresses. Back to the food, I don’t know if it is authentic or not, but everything I tried is extremely tasty. They have a buffet style starters for you free to choose. Be sure to try the smoked salmon! And there is a unique mushroom dish. Had the chicken breast as my main course, and all the ingredients are full of flavor. It is indeed sort of pricy but definitely worth a try! (Not to mention its incomparably location.)

authentic, well presented food in a themed atmosphere. When I lived there, I always brought my foreign guests to this place for the experience. There is one in Turku also.
