I had few mezes(tabuli and hummus) and delicious meat shawarma. Nice and cozy corner restaurant. Offers take-away also. Friendly and professional service.

The chicken shawarma I ordered was rather large, satisfying and most importantly served promptly. This place definitely rivals the tried and tested Fafa’s in terms of value for money and succulent food. I did find a hair in my glass of water but it wasn’t a big deal in my opinion. Would recommend.

This small shop consistently has people in it. So we gave it a chance. The one man operation did a good job at keeping things moving. He is not much of a talker but that’s ok. The portion sizes are small. You will not be sharing these plates. But the prices are set with that in mind. So be certain to get what you want. We ordered the wrap after the tapas starters. It was just right after a long day of walking around. This is a locals place with decent tourist traffic. The décor is a bit run down and the food is very good all things considered. The cook is the real deal. He will say goodby as you leave.

In a week filled with unrealized burger promises and a BBQ joint which appears to be closed more than it’s open, it should not be a surprise that an old favorite comes in and demonstrates how it’s supposed to be done. I had only ever been to the Vivos on Roobertinkatu a few times and although I’ve never had a bad meal there, I wasn’t crazy about the ambience. With its shiny, white interior, it felt more like an operating theatre than a shop which makes terrific food. The Vivos on Malminrinne, however, is awesome. Although it’s located on a busier street corner, it’s enclosed, warmer and a place to chill, have a beer and inhale some truly excellent cuisine. I ordered a chicken shwarma pita along w/a side of freshly made hummus accompanied with some insanely fresh olive oil. Service was quick and very friendly. In the midst of a sudden rush of customers, my waiter forgot to say«Enjoy your meal» to me as he placed it down on the table in front of me. He ran back over within 20 seconds and for the remainder of my visit, kept apologizing for the rudeness of forgetting to wish me good eats. Of course it was nothing at all to me and I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I was only able to concentrate on the steamy succulent, spiced chicken with warm sauce and vegetables, snugly embraced inside a tight pita wrap, which sat seductively before me. An ice cold Brooklyn Lager washed everything down. At € 20 for the lot, some people might complain about it being overpriced. To those people, I suggest eating a double«scorch» burger with your friends at Friends & Brgrs. Better yet, take an expensive taxi to Teurastamo and pray you can make the 11 minute window that represents B-Smokery’s shameful opening hours. Good food is worth paying for, people. Great food is worth travelling for. I would travel for Vivos and it has made it’s way onto the top five must-have locations to dine at during my visits to Helsinki. On an unrelated note, I swung by the somewhat recently opened Bob Barley just down the road after my Vivos meal. Talk about class. Tomas the bartender suggested I consume the peatiest whiskey in the world. I recommend it highly. Shwarma & whiskey, y’all.

The food was great. Wanted to taste them all so the waiter recommended a mixed meze plate. Had it and every part of it was delicious. Only thing that bothered was the atmosphere in full lit surroundings that could had been easily made more pleasant. After all, it was friday night. The service was extremely friendly.

Relatively new place close to Kamppi with Libanese food. Welcome change to the scene. They serve a really good falafel and baba ganoush. Fast and joyful service. They could have some more veggies on the menu. Good to eat in and take away.
