Dropped in for a brew, stayed for four. Whoops. Or should I say hops? Hops *everywhere*. Started with a Roosters Fort Smith IPA(cask?). I didn’t care for the taste but the price was right — this place rotates a real ale selection frequently. Continued with a bottled BrewDog Jack Hammer — hoppy as expected. Then I noticed Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on tap, and couldn’t resist. You don’t see it on tap at many places in Finland, so I was pleasantly surprised. Lastly, I asked the barkeep for a Christmas beer recommendation and ended up with a bottled BrewDog Hoppy Christmas. I found it a strange recommendation since it’s an import and I reckon Finland knows a thing or two about Christmas beer. I’m told this is a venerable Tampere pub and there seemed to be plenty of locals at the place — it certainly has charm. This visit was on a Thursday and they had a pub quiz going. I’ll be back here for sure because of the extensive selection. But be prepared to open you wallet for that selection — pricey brews. Not much value to be found at this classic pub.
