Hôtel Rotonde

I want to give this review 3.5 stars, but the service from over the recent weekend was nice due to service. And they allow our traveling-​with-​us dog, so that’s cool of them. :)
I am surprised to see «Residence» in this hotel’s listed name here. We do not see that part of the name on any of their papers, but it fits. The rooms are quite spare, though fine. I would prefer a more comfortable mattress, which feels a little springy. I am sure the hotel is doing as best they can however.
I respect this place so far, we are early in our 9-​day stay here. My husband is being hosted here by a local university where he is visiting. I see mostly other business-​looking travelers staying here.
Breakfast is included, and we are able to have our dog with us. This is good given kenneling him in the U.S. was prohibitively expensive (though flying him everywhere is def not cheap).
At our midnight check-​in, we met the delightful and very friendly overnight consierge, while we were here. The weekend breakfast woman, whose name I’ve forgotten, is also quite nice. Weekdays, the breakfast service is colder. The breakfast itself is a glorified continental which was quite good, yogurt, muesli, tons of meats and cheeses, spreads and bread, juices (orange and grapefruit) and good, strong coffee, and teas.
It is delightfully sunny here in Aix, a stark contrast to our recent 5-​week grey London stay, and this hotel provides outdoor seating as well, shielded from the street traffic by plantings, which is a nice feature.

Zimmer: Angenehme Größe, sehr sauber, klimatisiert, TV mit ARD und BR (Tip: Zimmer 105, da kann man das Free WiFi aus der Lobby nutzen) Service: Essen gibt es nur Frühstück, das ist aber umfangreich. Free WiFi in der Lobby. Das Personal ist superfreundlich, spricht einwandfrei Englisch und ist auch bei der Planung von Ausflügen und Wanderungen behilflich. Lage: Superzentral, ca. 5 Gehminuten zum Ausgehviertel (Rotonde), ca. 3 Gehminuten zur Tourist Information, ca. 2 Gehminuten zum Busbahnhof (Gare routiere) mit Verbindungen nach Marseille (alle 10 Minuten), Avignon, Cassis etc. Geniale Lage für Unternehmungslustige ohne eigenen PKW. Fazit: Ich war jetzt 8 Nächte in diesem Hotel und würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Hinweis für alle Wanderer: In der Zeit von Mitte Juni bis September sind die meisten schönen Wanderwege wegen Waldbrandgefahr gesperrt. Ansonsten ist das Umland von Aix ein Wanderparadies teilweise auch mit ordentlich Höhenmetern (Croix de Provence, Calanques bei Cassis, beides paradiesisch schöné Touren). Denkt daran euch noch in Aix mit Proviant und Wasser zu versorgen da es in vielen kleineren Dörfern keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt. Viel Spaß im Hotel Rotonde und der Provence!!!

bon petit hôtel
Bön il faut reconnaitre que la façade extérieur n’est pas franchement jolie mais l’hôtel complétement refait a neuf contraste avec celle ci. une fois passé la porte, vous ete accueilli par une réceptionniste très aimable et souriante. l’ascenseur tout en verre vous emmènent dans les étages, les chambres sont assez grandes mais la salle de bain est vraiment ridicule et que dire de cette douche a l’italienne trop petite pour une personne normalement constitué, muni d’un simple rideau alors qu’une cabine aurait été bienvenue. Dans l’ensemble cet hôtel n’est pas trop mal, c’est un bon 2 étoiles, la Troisième étoile n’est pas justifié. un bon point tout de même pour le petit déjeuner sous forme de buffet, le café est très bon. je recommande malgré tout cet hôtel pour sa situation stratégique a coté du cours Mirabeau de la gare routière et SNCF… un b

Bonne adresse
Cet hôtel est accueillant et les chambres sont fonctionnelles et très propres. Il est aussi très bien situé puisqu’en plein centre, dont idéal pour les promenades même tardives.
