Went to Spok for lunch today. It was really… OK. Frankly, had expected a bit more as I had navigated to their website and saw a nifty array of foodie type sandwiches at really reasonable prices. But what I HADN’T expected was the ambiance and layout of the place, very much like a «Pret a Manger» or «Au Bön Pain» chain store in the US, with ready-made sandwiches in a «frigo» unit. While we were there, the music was really loud, which made us eager to finish our lunch and go so we could hear each other talk. Also a bit odd was the fact that there are a few small tables, then one really LONG table with benches that require you to literally get on your hands and knees to climb UNDER the table if you want to sit across from your companion. Awkward. The food was good, but not as good as it looked on the menu.(Which looks mind-blowingly good!) There’s a holistic-organic vibe about the place, but the employees were a little less relaxed than the décor. Would go back if a friend suggested it, but it’s not our top pick for a sandwich place in Aix. Just sayin.

Cuisine original !
