This place was very good and clean. We stopped in mid-week for lunch with no reservations and they seated us immediately. The wife got French onion soup and it was very good. I got a salad and overall the food was good, service prompt and friendly, and the place neat. Restrooms were also clean with separate for women and men.

Nice place. All places taken around 20.00 hours. Food is fairly priced and well prepared. Waitress was doing a fine job. Hard working. Food is served fairly quick. They speak English. Touristic, but no tourist-trap.

Very mediocre food. Definitely a tourist trap. Everyone in the place spoke English and the people we spoke to were all disappointed with the food.

Got last — minute reservation here for a Sunday evening meal in lieu of dining at the Michelin rated restaurant at our château. We were looking for something more casual, less expensive, but still yummy. Ambiance and service here were fine, and the prices were appreciated. We both ordered from the less expensive of two prix– fixe menus. I got the vegetable soup and steak w/bearnaise and husband got the oysters and pork filet in traditional camembert sauce. Starters were fine but nothing to write home about. My steak was cooked properly but the meat just wasn’t good — super tough. Pork was better with good flavor but a bit overcooked. Desserts were also fine. Overall, fine but would likely try one of the other recommended places instead if we were to do it again.

Dined here our first night. Close quarters gave us a chance to chat with friendly other tourists. Husband got the steak, medium rare as ordered but we have found the steaks are generally the thin, quick pan fry variety so not so great-but cooked as ordered so that’s a plus. I ordered the chicken Normandy, which was flavorful but not exactly overwhelming. I think we’ve found there are better restaurants near our hotel lion D’Or but it was fine, just not what I expected after arriving here

Excellent foie gras. Loved the copious fig spread & grey(presumably Brittany?) salt. Needs to be served with more yummy brioche; the ratio of foie gras to brioche is not perfect. I still would give this dish 5 stars for deliciousness. Husband had the steak tartare which was HUGE and he loved it. Really it’s probably too big, though. Also should be served with better veggies(they were a bit overcooked). I had the duck in apple sauce. Sauce needed more flavor, so I added salt, and that worked, still would have benefitted from the addition of a little acid(cider vinegar, maybe?). Duck wasn’t as tender as the US, but I’m not sure if that’s typical(like steak overseas) or not. The meat was perfectly cooked rare-medium rare, though. This dish should be served with better sides. My sides were the same as my husband’s, despite radically different dishes. Sides didn’t pair right, especially for mine. For dessert we had a flipped over apple tart. Apples were a bit overcooked(we thought), and wish they had more tart/crust. Sauce was very very good. We definitely devoured it. Also tried the toast with caramel sauce(sort of like a French toast in the US). Sauce was very good; toast was ok — it could have been battered better. Wine was ok — we had 2 waitresses sort of, and the older one served it. She didn’t uncork it in front of us, which we found quite odd. This is the only time that has happened to us maybe ever, so it was definitely weird. It never happened again in France or the UK or Italy. Flavor & quality were ok — not the best we had in France, even at this price point, which wasn’t outrageously high/low or anything. Waitresses are very busy, but service was fine. We didn’t find it slow. Meal was perfectly timed. Wish they automatically brought you more water when you run out, but I realize that’s a more American thing. Definitely lots of tourists, but not all Americans, and definitely a nice ambiance. We were there on a Sunday in September, and didn’t have reservations exactly(just called like an hour ahead and made one). On busier nights(Friday/Saturday) and the high season you would need to call earlier to make a reservation.

There were 4-of us for dinner here on a Saturday night. We were able to walk in and get seated right away, despite the restaurant still buzzing with others. We ordered some good starters, great entrees and shared a desert. Had 2-great French wines and a couple good starter drinks. Service was good. I would recommend this if you are in town.

I didn’t realize a two course meal could take three hours. That’s three hours in the«Where the hell is our waitress?» way and not«Wow, we’re having such a great time!» way. I don’t know what the deal was, but our waitress legitimately disappeared for about an hour. We were vacationing, having a good time and weren’t in a rush, so we didn’t realize how much time had passed until we noticed our wine bottle and water glasses were always empty. It’s a shame too because the food was outstanding. I think I had every animal from the farm and beyond; duck, shrimp, veal, foie gras… all delicious. Even the carrots that came with my meal were the best carrots I’ve ever had. I don’t know how you make carrots so awesome, but they did it. As good as everything was, I’m not sure I’d recommend it to others. Maybe we just got forgotten and the experience of others is better, but the service really tarnished an otherwise great meal.
