After a long drive the kids thought the first order of business was to take a long swim in the frigid pool. I don’t know. They’re crazy. We watched the bats eat up the local flying bugs as the girls slowly turned blue. The on-line reservation process had been a bit confusing. When we got there we realized that we’d ordered their adventure pass. One free bottle of wine, two free tickets to Vulcania and a couple plush toys for the kids. We were too tired to object. The room was fine but tiny. Novotel’s the only French brand that can consistently accommodate groups of four, so thumbs up on that. The elevator was a bit scary. Jerked to a stop then suddenly shot up a half inch on every ride. The bathroom smelled like chicken. The closet smelled like Play-Doh. There was more English spoken in the restaurant than French. So to sum up, jerky movements, odd smells, flying creatures, unexpected languages. This is starting to sound like a PCP trip!
