Le Relais du Viaduc

The only reason this place got a two star instead of one, is the food was very good. What wasn’t good is the service. I dont speak a lot of French but made sure I could get by with the polite basics while over there. During the two weeks there this restaurant was the only place to treat us bad because we were a bit of an inconvenience by having to have us point at what we wanted instead of fluently speaking it.
After waiting for twenty minutes and watching the waiter get get bread and water to those who came in after us and order after us, the restaurant owner came to our table and saw we had no bread or water even though we had ordered. She then started talking to him and I could tell she was asking him why we were being ignored. It was then that we reached our patience and stood up to leave. He came over to us and tried to explain that our food was almost ready and that we should stay. I then had google translate our concern that we were being treated differently because we were American and that we felt very unwelcome because of him. He turned bright red as we had called him out for his rude behavior. He begged us to sit and we decided to stay as we probably would not have been able to find something else open for lunch. He then immediately brought out water and bread and the service changed drastically. The owner also came out and apologized for him and bought us two beers cor after our meal. The food was excellent but that very rude waiter ruined the experience. Paying as much as we did for the meal, one shouldn’t have to go through all that just to get the same service as everyone else. Again, I realize that us not speaking fluently could be a bit of annoyance, but we were very polite and were able speak enough to get us by for a wonderful two week vacation.

Le restaurant, récemment restauré, jouis d’une décoration claire et harmonieuse. La véranda est découvrable l’été pour un repas à la belle étoile.
On y mange bien pour un prix raisonnable. Les plats, essentiellement élaborés avec des produits de la mer, sont raffinés et gourmands.
