Amazing champagne tasting bar, with free snacks, knowledgable friendly staff and weekly changing tasting menu. Loved their simple foie gras with champagne spread. Their smoked salmon was fresh and brightened with lemon. It was a wonderful experienced trying the food with different champagnes. We found that the salmon tasted better with the Demi-sec and the foie gras was perfect with brut champagne. I loved the blend of three grapes to make the Champagne Brut exclusiv’t. I also loved the rich flavor of the Rose. Amazing. I had a wonderful time and so did all the people leaving the bar. Even the toddler with the drunk parents.

We stopped in here for some Champagne before dinner. There is a ton of seating and the servers are quite friendly. We decided just to try two of the Champagnes they had on offer. They were really good. They had some complimentary nibbles(as most places in France do). They also sell cheese and foie gras which I imagine would go quite nicely with Champagne. Next time we’re in the area, we’ll have to be back to try a bit more, but from what I saw, I liked!

We had so much fun conducting blind taste tests their 6 Champagne sampler. For 39 € per sampler, it was a great value for some high quality bubbles. All of the producers sampled except 1 are RMs. The staff was very friendly, and even suggested the game to us. Here is the list of Champagnes in our flight: 1. Alain Siret — Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru(100% Chardonnay) 2. Gaston COLLARD — Champagne Extra Brut Grand Cru(90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay) 3. Joseph LORIOT-PAGEL — Champagne Brut Carte d’Or(80% Meunier, 10% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir) 4. LARENT-GABRIEL — Champagne Brut Grande Reserve(70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay) 5. MOUTARDIER — Champagne Brut Rose(80% Meunier, 20% Chardonnay) And for the 6th Champagne they allowed us to swap out for one on the next week’s list because we had never had a rose that obtained it’s coloring due to the puncturing of the Pinot Noir skins. 6. MARCELVEZIEN — Champagne Brut Rose(100% Pinot Noir) After trying all 6, both Dave & I, as well as the 2 staff members agreed that #3 was our favorite of the group. This was my favorite place that we visited while in Epernay.
