I recently developed iliotibial band problems road biking in the Paris area. I started looking around for a fit clinic to get a proper bike fitting, and was recommended Medicycle Stephane Travadon by a few friends. I called his office via phone two weeks ago, and setup an appointment for today. Mr. Travadon seemed quite friendly. I added the entry to my calendar, as Mr. Travadon did not send me an email confirmation. I think he works via phone only, and does not use e-mail for his business. I took time off work today for the appointment, prepared my bike and belongings, and set off for the office. I received a call from Mr. Travadon at 15h15 about my appointment. I was at Gare du Nord waiting for my train to his office at that time, with the intention of being there a bit early for 16h. Upon Mr. Travadon’s call, I was made aware that my appointment actually was at 15h, not 16h as I had saved in my calendar. I tried to apologize to Mr. Travadon, and asked about how I could fix the situation. I offered a few resolutions such as paying for his time, arriving around 15h45, or rescheduling. I also apologized for my misunderstanding, as I am an American who is not fully fluent in French. I also mentioned how I work in a job where scheduling is critical, and that it was not my intent to show up late. Mr. Travadon was quite angry to hear that I was planning on arriving at 16h, not 15h. He mentioned that regardless of my offerings, he was a very busy man, who came into the office today solely for my bike fitting. He also mentioned that there was no way for me to rectify the situation, and that my money does not make up for his lost time. He mentioned that he was not interested in my business, thanked me for my time, and then ended the call. I realize I made the first mistake today, not Mr. Travadon. Nonetheless, I am writing this review due to his rude customer service, and his disinterest in arriving at a compromise with me. I am now sitting back at home with knee problems, and no other option for a bicycle fitting service in the Paris area.
