Du verre à l’assiette

We had an excellent bistro experience for lunch and found both our server and the owner, Olivier, to be very welcoming. The food and wine were delicious, and reasonably priced. I appreciate that they promote slow food, and support local products, farm-​to-​table style. We sat indoors due to rain, and enjoyed a wonderful, cozy ambiance. I will definitely be back my next visit.

My husband and I we love to taste wines and we spend a lot of money for wine. After a very inspiring evening in L’Oustalet the evening before (restaurant next door) we wanted to try Du verre à l’assiette. It was quite early in the evening and with us there was only one table with other guests. Our hunger wasn’t very big yet so we decided to eat later and having some good wines first. When we told that to the waitress you don’t believe it we were yanked out! They told us that we ave to go because now is the time to eat. It’s not possible to first have some drinks and eat later. Even if the complete restaurant was empty and we never saw that place fully booked before they decided that it’s better to send good guests away. I never made such an experience in my whole live. Please don’t go to that place, there are much better places in Gigondas.
