Nice little place in Grandcamp-Maisy France that we stopped off at after driving around Normandy. Good cold beer! We didn’t eat so I’m not giving them 5 stars and they didn’t have anyone to come out and take our order. Everyone had to go in and get their own…

I could not check in because I did not have a wifi connection while visiting Normandy. This unassuming little place on the pier in Maisy has an amazing person in the kitchen. I ordered scallops in cream sauce with fries. Can we just say ah~mazing? Yes I ordered well! It is scallop season, or so I was told and so there you go! Buttery, tender, totally yum! And don’t you just love when you try a regional dish and your tastebuds are aligned with the stars? On our recent travels, I have been hit or miss, which can be so disappointing. This was a major success! We were a party of four. Two of ordered the scallops, one ordered the steak and another the Croc Monsieur. We were all happy. That«steak» my hubby ordered came out looking like a deliciously juicy filet mignon. Truth. We were all happy. So glad a basket of sliced sourdough was at the table so I could slurp up the sauce when I was done with the scallops! Yes, I did that. So, it’s a tiny little place, not much going on, but the service was friendly which is so nice because our French is so bad. Our meals were presented beautifully and I felt I got a five star meal at this three star café. If we ever have the opportunity to travel back through Normandy [most especially during scallop season] I will find Café du Port!

C’est un troquet pour y boire l’apéro. Un comptoir et une terrasse en du marché au poisson.
