We actually came here around 7pm on a Friday and they did not have any openings so we made Sunday reservations for lunch. Reservations really are a must, even for this small village. Please note, they also have the same lunch menu as dinner menu so be prepared to pay full price. Be sure to bring cash or a credit card with a chip. They do not take the standard Visa or MC with the swipe stripe. With that out of the way, you will find this restaurant delightful and the food some of the best in Europe. We were on a 45 day vacation in many countries and my husband and I both agree this sent our tastebuds soaring. The staff was also lovely as they welcomed the locals and us English speaking tourists equally. The menu was available in English and we enjoyed each moment… not rush and not ignored, as we have felt in other places. After ordering we were presented with free taste of fresh soup and bread, then the escargot appetizer we ordered. The sparkling wines in this town are amazing, the one we chose was from the family next door. Our entrees, as my husband says, danced in our mouth. The very best ingredients and a talented chef made it a lunch to always remember.

Dans le très beau village d’itterswiller allez déguster la cuisine du restaurant«Au caveau du vieux pressoir’. Dans un joli décor très cosy vous pourrez déguster une excellente cuisine. Les propriétaires sont des gens charmants et attentionés. Les 3 chambres d’hôtes qu’ils proposent sont très belles et très calmes. Le petit déjeuner y est copieux et délicieux(pains divers, vienoiseries, fromage blanc aux fruits frais, charcuterie etc…).
