Since moving to Paris, I’ve heard and witnessed a lot of horror stories from friends of mine having bad experience at hair salons, especially with color. I myself, in a misplaced attempt to color my hair myself, not only got the color completely wrong(orange), but also badly damaged it in the process. I found stylepixie on Unilocal and am so glad I did because not only did they get my hair to a lovely shade the first appointment, and now a couple later to the exact color I wanted, but they also restored it to its previously healthy state after the horrible chemical damage, and kept me from having to shave my head. It’s a bit pricy, but in Paris especially you get what you pay for, and for the quality of service they provide it’s absolutely worth the cost. I recommend Gigi in particular, who is the stylist I see, as she is very professional and friendly and really has a knack for color. As long as I am Paris I will not go to anyone else!

I recently moved to the Paris area from the San Francisco area and was looking for a salon. I live in the countryside and ride the train into Paris to go to this salon. It is well worth the trip whether you live here or are visiting. They are near a Metro stop on Line 7. I love this place. Any of the stylists are great and it is low key and easy and they play great music. It’s a good! They speak English so being able to have a conversation is important if you are not fluent in French. Bring cash. They can take your reservation via email which is on their website. You get 10 percent off if you book your next appointment while there. Seriously I love it here.

As a young American girl living in Paris I, like everyone else, was super nervous about getting my hair done at a French salon. Style Pixie made my experience comfortable and convenient. Very easy to get to by the metro, everyone speaks perfect English and are so, so friendly and accommodating! Norbert was my stylist and he did an amazing job– probably the best highlight and haircut I’ve ever had! Full head of highlights, haircut, blow dry/style(and a solid 20 minute shampoo with literally the best head massage I’ve ever had) totaled 175 euro not including tip. Worth EVERY penny. I recommend this salon to everyone and I will definitely be back!

Let me give you a little backstory on me to help explain my rating. I’ve been a bleach and tone for 4 years with the same stylist. I worked for a while in a salon, which allots me just enough information about hair to be an annoying client but not enough to actually know how to do anything relating to hair. My blonde is perfect. Healthy and even with no bands because I always — ALWAYS — go to the same stylist. However, being abroad in Paris for four months, I needed to get my hair done, which was literally giving me nightmares. I’ve seen bad bleach and tones, broken hair, scabbed scalps… I was panicking. After extensive searching I found Style Pixie Salon and was automatically more intrigued as it was an English speaking salon(I speak French, but so much gets lost, especially with hair). The reviews looked good, as did pricing(not too expensive, but not so cheap that you worry), so I decided to give this place a shot. If you do what I did — venture out to «investigate» on a rainy day when the salon happens to be closed, you might get a sketch feeling about the place. From the outside it seems almost industrial, and if you walk just a few blocks passed it, you realize you are outside Paris proper. Having said that — the salon is actually quite lovely. They’ve done some nice decorating and its a small but comfortable space. It is directly across from a student residence, too, so it is not a scary place. Being the panicky client I am, I sat in the chair sweating, worrying about my impending bleach experience. My stylist was Dean, a very nice and reassuring guy. They use quality salon products(Bed Head and TiGi, plus I think I saw Schwarzkopf silver shampoo), and the salon was very clean. After I processed and got a head massage so good I nearly fell asleep in the sink, I was eager as ever to see my hair. My color looks great! It is very even and my hair does not at all feel damaged. I am so relieved! I did not get a cut, but saw several women having their hair cut while I was processing and the results were very nice. I definitely recommend this salon to any English speaker visiting Paris — especially if you are particular about your hair. The staff was all very polite, and — added bonus — the salon dog was a fun distraction while I was processing. *They do not have a credit card machine. You must pay in cash or with a check. I asked for a price range before going to make sure I would have enough, I recommend doing the same.

The first place I found when I moved to Paris was my salon. For 2.5 years I was seeing Emma every 6 weeks religiously! Over that 2 years we got my hair to grow and perfected my blonde. It got to the point where I just gave the reigns over to Emma completely and she would know EXACTLY what to do! I will only ever come to Style Pixie while in Paris!

I’ve been hesitating going to get my hair cut in Paris because of my fear of trying to explain my hair cut desires and hair quirks to a stylist in French. Although I’ve made decent progress in the language department, I still have linguistic anxiety in particular situations, specifically talking on the phone(like, needing to make an appointment) and using inane vocabulary(how do you say«cowlick» in French?) So, when my expat friend told me about an English-speaking salon, I was totally in. I was in major need of a cut and color to get rid of my bad mommy hairdo. I got an appointment within a week with Emma, the salon manager. I am so happy with her work. She listened to what I wanted and took the time to understand my hair before starting. My only«complaints» are the time it took to get there(over 45 minutes from my house — but, of course, that depends on where you live) and the price(150 € for a cut and color). Although a bit on the expensive side, I’m willing to pay for a job well done. The salon itself is very cool — in an old warehouse. My friend said that if you go in the afternoon/evening, you get to sip champagne during your appointment(I went in the day and only got tea). While there, I saw a woman getting a consultation for her wedding, and it sounds like they do make-up and nails as well. Overall, I’m really happy with the salon and will definitely be going back.
