Espressamente Illy

Ironically, the staff at this coffee shop has the worst command of English and the worst attitude we’ve experienced in our 9 days spent in Paris. Coffee tastes like an ashtray too. Do yourself a favor and wait to get a coffee on your flight instead.

Yes, I agree with the first reviewer that this place is pricy but I will tell you that I was disappointed that I missed it the last time I flew out of CDG. You see, Espressamente was the place that made me like coffee. I had a Marocchino Caldo in 2011 as I was awaiting my plane to fly home to Atlanta. I was dead tired and hoped that a caffeine boost would make the time go by faster. It didn’t (caffeine does not have the effect of waking me up) but it tasted so damn good. It may seem trivial to many, but this drink made me discover how good coffee could be. The drink had a true flavor of coffee without being bitter, the way I had drank it before. Since then, I have discovered more things to drink and maybe it took some hot chocolate in my java to make me appreciate it, but hey, it worked!
This is an Illy coffee bar, with Illy probably being my favorite commercial brand for coffee. I would get it more frequently were it not so expensive. If you are in terminal 2E, stop by.

Arrivée en caisse je décide de changer de sandwich. Résultat, le caissier trop pressé qui avait déjà imprimé le ticket de caisse avant que je n’arrive à sa hauteur n’a pas apprécié, et me l’a fait savoir de manière un peu trop prononcée.
Je conçois qu’il né soit pas forcement très agréable de travailler en zone de transit, surtout pendant la période estivale. Mais est-​ce vraiment une raison pour faire subir votre caractère de cochon à tout un quidam? La réponse est non, cher monsieur.

Arrivé au terminal F portes 21 – 36 à une heure matinale vous avez le choix entre deux restaurants: Illy ou Exki. Misant sur le trio café, croissant et jus d’orange j’opte pour le Illy Café. La serveuse est si peu attentive qu’il est difficile d’arriver au bout de ma commande pour plusieurs personnes. Un café long m’est servi alors qu’un expresso fut commandé. Le croissant atteint un niveau de médiocrité rarement égalé au cours de mon existence.

Terminal 2G is dead at Roissy CDG. I was hoping to hang out at a nice shop for breakfast, but there was nothing to be had but a small café and an Espressament Illy stand.
It was also FREEZING in the terminal, so I was hoping that a cup of cappuccino would warm us up. Served in dinky little paper cups, they were mostly foamed milk and barely a mouthful. Tasted ok, but didn’t do much to warm our hands.
The pain au chocolate was nice and buttery though. EUR 1.95 per pain au chocolate, and EUR 3.90 for each cappuccino.

Quick easy coffee… Nothing special as there are a lot of coffee spots to choose from.

Il est plus sympa de se poser dans ce café en attendant votre vol plutôt que Exki qui se tient juste à coté…
Les prix sont similaires mais la nourriture est bien meilleure, ou moins pire.
A quand de la bonne bouffe à Charles de Gaulle? C’est pas compliqué non?
Même les macarons Ladurée sont infectes…
