I had a 5 hour layover in Paris and unfortunately couldn’t find a nice restaurant where I could sit down so I just took advantage of the free wifi and sat close to the gates. Eventually I did get hungry and spotted Paul close to my gate. I got La Savoureux(4.50 euro); a sandwich with thin sausage slices(Rosette de Lyon?) and cornichons. Luckily I managed to get a seat at one of the three tables in this sunken café and got to enjoy my quick meal as others looked on enviously from in line and from above at the gate level. The sandwich was very good, I liked the chewiness of the bread and it had great flavour. Be wary if you’re wearing all black, as the bread has quite a bit of flour coming off of it. You won’t find pleasant ambience here, just a good sandwich.

We had a lunch at the Brasserie(at the back, after the sandwich desk). The Children Menu at € 6.4 is just perfect. Unfortunately, the other menus and dishes are not great: not-enough-cooked duck, burger with missing ingredients, salads w/o taste.

I have been in Paul in South Beach, Miami which was great. I saw the café in Paris Airport I could not wait to eat my favorite chocolate eclairs but unfortunately they did not have them. I ate chocolate pastry which was good, orange juice is really tasty and coffee as well.

I went in reading a review of how their sandwiches represent the French baguette sandwich-dom very admirably. Hence, I had made up my mind to enjoy the meal deal of coffee-sandwich-n-pastry. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for my palate. They weren’t making sandwiches at the moment(or they were out of it), so I decided to switch to a hastily conjured ‘plan b’ of latte and a pastry. Much to my chagrin, their lattes were made by ‘press-a-button baristas’. The rhubarbe tartelette was a good choice and hit the spot. It was served cold and probably would have tasted way better warm and flaky, but was still pretty good. The latte however can go practice it’s suction capabilities on a pair of spheres for all I care; I trashed it after three sips(I had decided after the second sip, but took another one in a vain attempt to «get my money’s worth»). (Nota bene: I moved over to Costas coffee to appease my latte palate.)

Love the food, pastries and seating area to relax before boarding the plane. A little pricey but hey it’s Europe ;)

With a little more than 90 minutes before boarding, I picked to eat at Paul instead of a «sit-down» restaurant for two reasons: for a formula(basically a combo that includes a sandwich, drink, and dessert) that was less than half the price of one entrée and my desire to eat a yummy French sandwich before leaving the country. I got the chicken sandwich with tomatoes, lettuce, and traditional whole-grain mustard on poppy seed baguette with an apricot tart and a bottle of water. Admittedly, I eyed the ham and butter, which I love(!!!), but since I spent 2 weeks in France gorging myself on meat, cheese, bread, and butter, I wanted something«lighter.» The sandwich hit the spot, with the bread tasting fresh and different with the poppy seeds. The veggies were crisp and the mustard was wonderfully smoky and spicy. The tart did not disappoint and was quite massive. Nice service and yummy sandwiches and pastries. There’s not much else you could ask for for your meal before heading back home or to wherever else you’re heading.

Come for: a place to seat with free airport internet and snacks Had a mixte sandwich(butter, ham, cheese) and an chausson aux pommes. I wish the bread was crunchy like other sandwiches I’ve had in France. Disappointed that the chaussons au pommes have sugar on top like the american turnovers vs the traditional french ones.

Great quiche for under 5 euro though I won’t let them heat mine which they do automatically unless you stop them. If you are saving it for your flight I would ask for it to go as is or room temp, you will thank me. Better than Starbucks and more authentic, they also have good lattes that are very small but who needs all the calories and cost. For 7 euro total you have a nice breakfast or snack for later in flight. Cute seating area to hang out in to sip that coffee if you’d like to before a long flight.

I love Paul. No — no man involved, just a bakery chain in Paris. What I like about it is the consistency with which it serves the standard French fare of Danish/pastries such as pain au chocolat or croissant or apple/apricot Danish. It won’t taste as good as from your small boulangerie somewhere in the centre but for«chain”-food it really is pretty good — even the coffee. I always drop by on my way from the airport to the train station to have something to nibble on during the journey into town. The staff at this airport branch are always stressed but manage to stay friendly. Also since my(french) boss always gets croissants etc from Paul’s for the morning team meetings resulting in loud cheers from everyone(the French are pretty serious about food) it can’t be all that bad. Overall tasty stuff but a tad expensive for my taste — small cappuccino for 3,70 is way too much — but that’s Paris for you. As long as the expense account covers it though, Paul will definitely see me again ;-)

A branch of the large French bakeries chain«Paul», they serve the typical fare here at the airport. While I generally prefer small independent bakeries, I am happy that this location is convenient enough to get croissant and coffee during a connection at CDG airport. It has a counter«to go» and a sit down area which is nice when your connection is not too short. It is outside security so it may be an hassle if you have a intra-terminal connection but generally, if you have to switch from say 2E to 2 °F or 2C it is an easy stop.
