Le-Mont-Saint-Michel is covered by restaurants and cafes affiliated with that red-colored restaurant chain, the one offering those fluffy omelettes, that are too big and too expensive, and definitely considered a tourist trap. So if you want a good meal and yet don’t want to fall for a tourist trap, then go for this place. This creperie is actually hidden from view, it is in the top floor of a building, where you have to go through a souvenir shop in order to find the entrance. They only have a very small dining area, and when we went there, all the tables were taken, and we had to wait about twenty minutes. But I am telling you, the wait is worth it. I ordered the Viroise Galette, as well as a pitcher of the local cider. That was fantastic, and definitely worth the money. The galettes weren’t expensive at all, costing at most about 8EUR. Be adventurous and order a galette with the andouille sausage, it smells a little bit, but definitely worth the taste. And the cider definitely washes it all away perfectly. So yes, try to hunt this place. They have some signage at the ground floor level, but you have to find it amongst the crowds.

Excellent. The waiters were very nice and we really loved the authentic décor. The galettes and crepes were delicious: we took the savoyarde and the normande.

The Gallette was flavorful. The waitstaff was Extremely accommodating. It’s a cute space that felt other-world like. I really enjoyed the vibe and the speediness and flavors of the food!

The restaurant is a charming little space above a gift shop. We liked the cozy ambience. In this tiny room you can also see the chef actually preparing the food. We had some galettes and everything was freshly put together so they were good enough, but we thought they were lacking of salt. Nothing that can’t be fixed with a dash of table salt. More than that, i was expecting a little crisp on the edges but didn’t get any. The dough was soft and chewy, just like a crêpe.

Great service! The best service we have had on our trip. Crepes were excellent! Salted caramel ice cream is out of this world.

If you’re at Mont Saint Michel you may be looking for somewhere to get away from the surging crowds of tourists and the Hello Kitty themed Mont Saint Michel trinkets. La Sirèné is that place. Situated above one of the gift shops up a wooden spiral staircase this small creperie is hidden away such that when we went there was only one other couple there, despite the rest of the shops and restaurants being heaving with people. Service was friendly and prompt. I had a salted butter caramel crêpe(my third of my trip, yes I’m obsessed with salted caramel) and it was by far the best yet. The crêpe was soft and fluffy, not too thin as to be crispy and dry but not too thick as to be soggy and stodgy, and topped with generous amounts of salted caramel. I’m salivating just thinking about it. One small gripe is that service became less attentive as, towards the end of our time at La Sirèné a large group arrived with many children in tow. But it was not too much of an annoyance. All in all I enjoyed a lovely and peaceful time there and would go back in a heartbeat, if only we did not have to brave the Mont Saint Michel crowds and touristiness…

It is a small place above a gift shop. You would probably miss it, had you not been looking for it. I will say that I have heard Mont st Michel is kind of a tourist trap, in that the town consists solely of gift shops and restaurants. This is true. I have also heard that the food is subpar. Imagine my surprise when I tried La Sirene, and the apple carmel salted butter crêpe had a delicate thin consistency, delicious. I also tried the Normandy crêpe that had a strong Andouille sausage wrapped with soft apples and cream… Also delicious. It is not a gastronomical experience, however that is probably not the reason why you are here. It is however a pleasant eating experience, especially if you get both a sweet and savory crêpe(aka galette). While we were here, a Japanese travel show(seemed like an Anthony Bourdain show, only replace him with a cutesy petite Japanese girl, fake eyelashes and all) was being filmed in the restaurant, so it may get a lot more popular after the show airs. In any case, we had no trouble getting a table.
