This is a family château. The man who greeted us, gave us a tour, and led the tasting was born and raised in the château. So was his daughter who now helps him run the business. Really nice guy, a very laid back atmosphere. The do tastings by reservation only — this is after all their home!
I loved this visit even though I was there in the winter while Saint Emilion is very quiet overall. Château Gueyrosse was one of the only places to take us in mid-​December for a tour and a tasting. It is really a nice contrast to the ultra commercialized tasting rooms in California.
