Hôtel Première Classe

Do yourself a favour if you’re staying in Lille, pay more if you can afford it and stay somewhere better.
Yes, the location’s pretty good (as in central-​ish) but Lille’s not that big and the Metro makes it so easy to get about that you could stay a bit further out from the centre and it wouldn’t be a big deal.
I came to Lille for a wee bit of reminiscing before spending Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve) in Paris with friends last year, as I lived in the fabulous city during my exchange year abroad at Uni and fancied a wee donner about (mainly to eat food.) Unfortunately after having a totally rubbish sleep here, I was left utterly exhausted and only had my night out saved by copious amounts of energy drinks!
As previously mentioned, the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly (hence the two stars) — but paper thin would be too good a description for the walls. I could hear the couple in the room next to me screaming (yep, screaming) at each other for ages, and it was getting pretty scary so I went down and told reception. They did check it out but it solved absolutely nothing, and to be honest I just didn’t really feel all that safe staying there, so it was pretty miserable!
Definitely learned my lesson there, it’s always worth paying a bit more for a good hotel room!
p. s. Lille is amazing, especially around Christmas. Don’t let this put you off going there because it’s magical :)

Quelle n’a pas été ma surprise de découvrir un hôtel Première Classe en plein centre de Lille!
Pour ceux qui né connaissent pas, les Première Classe, c’est un peu comme les Formule 1. Sauf qu’on a même la salle de bain et les toilettes à l’intérieur de la chambre! Bön, c’est riquiqui et on se demande comment on peut rentrer dans la douche, mais c’est possible, je vous l’assure.
Attention aux prix car ils peuvent varier si vous réservez via le net. De plus, les chambres partent très vite sachant que cela reste l’un des hôtels les moins chers de Lille (j’avais payé 50 euros la chambre environ avant la rénovation).
Attendez vous à une chambre de base assez petite et sommaire, mais tout est super propre et la qualité des matelas, couvertures et oreillers est excellente.
En revanche je déconseille le petit déjeuner, un peu cher pour ce que c’est.
Moi je m’en contenterais pendant une semaine à l’aise, mais c’est sur que si vous êtes vieux, gros, sourd et malade, Première Classe né fera probablement pas l’affaire.

The main appeal of this hotel is its location: a quiet street just around the corner from the Lille-​Flandres station, and a short walk from both Lille-​Europe (the Eurostar station) and the historic centre.
The prices are definitely budget, and the style reflects it. My room basic, with a tiny en suite, but comfortable and scrupulously clean. There was a television, with French channels only. Breakfast was a basic continental buffet.
Staff were friendly and helpful; overall, the location, cleanliness and price make this a good option for an inexpensive stay in the city.

Sommeil ou économie: il faut choisir
Un première classe en plein centre ville, c’est l’idéal pour profiter de Lille à bas prix et faire des économies. Néanmoins, les cloisons sont très fines et l’on dort assez mal dans cet hôtel. Ce n’est pas mon seul avis, mais celui de différents collègues qui y ont dormi… et n’y sont retournés que lorsqu’ils né pouvaient faire autrement (autres hôtels à prix modestes complets). A vous de voir quelles sont vos priorités.
