Plats du sud. Poissons et spécialités attachées à la région. Service et accueil très bien. Tarifs convenables même si cela peut paraître cher. Le plat était bon alors qu’il était tiède.

Stumbled across Le Morue as La Girafe was closed for the evening, given the previous low rating we probably would not have stopped if we had checked Unilocal first. The staff were attentive, the food very good(we had the fish soup, mixed seafood grill and the grilled fish special) and it had a great atmosphere filling up shortly after we arrived. The lightly battered aubergine fritter, potato olive tapenade and mixed vegetables balanced the dishes perfectly. It was on the more expensive side however the mixed grill(about € 24) was worth it, would recommend and go back.

While most mains in Montpellier — even the mid range+ — lie around 15 – 20 €, Le Morue is steeper, with mains from around 20 € and up to about 27 €. Based on its always-packed seating, it’s charming location and the fact that it is a seafood only restaurant, one could think that this is a high end seafood restaurant with medium plus prices. That is not the case. My grilled dorade was 21 €, and really wasn’t anything special. It surely wasn’t _bad_, the vegetables was nicely sauteed and the fish was… average, but at a a plus-charge of 5 €, it wasn’t nothing special. I might have choicen the wrong dish, but for me — Le Morue could need a price tag reality check.
