Hôtel Albert 1er

SUMMARY
Small hotel in an excellent location at a reasonable price for the area.
PROS
Not cheap but given the location is a decent bargain. The wonderful flower and farmer’s market are just around the corner. The beach is a block away. The Nice tram /​public transit is an easy five minute walk. The room we were in looked out to a park and large plaza. A very small but nice balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful.
CONS
The three person room was particularly small but still passable.
The air conditioning was the biggest draw back. It struggled to keep the room cool even though it was not that hot when we were there.
We did not eat breakfast at the hotel because we wanted to go to local bakeries, etc. It was well attended however.

This is a very tiny hotel that I stayed in on a Contiki tour. The rooms weren’t necessarily all tiny, but the hotel itself was very small with limited rooms and a small dining room and lobby.
It was very clean and close to the beach which was really nice as you can’t really get any closer to the center of things than this location. I was able to walk to the park, beach and the wonderful Saturday Market in only minutes.
Less 2 stars because the wi-​fi was a little sketchy depending on which room you were in, the bathrooms were a little outdated and in my room was quite tight, and the breakfast was a little below par. Breakfast was typical breads, cheese, and meat… but the cheese was literally Kraft American cheese slices in the packaging. Not the most delicious cheese you’d expect to find in Europe.
