Hôtel Univers

I booked this hotel through my credit card points. The hotel is situated near the Galleries Lafayette and the ocean, a location ideal for both shopping and sight seeing. There is a tram stop nearby, but there really isn’t any need for it. It’s about 5 minutes walking distance from Old town Nice.
The rooms themselves are decent. We got the double bed on the second floor and it’s relatively spacious, as is the bathroom. The space is clean and the styling is functional. It has a safe, AC unit, small TV, and most importantly, FREE wifi. It’s also a non-​smoking hotel which is a plus!
Breakfast is served from 7−10AM and it’s buffet style with dispensed juice/​coffee, cereals, yogurt, assortment of breads and jams, with scrambled eggs and bacon, and cold deli meats. Not a bad breakfast IMO.
The not so great:
Walls are on the thinner side so you can hear the streets and neighboring rooms. Lights in the hallways are almost always off and you have to switch them on yourself. a little creepy. Bathroom provides dispensable hand soap and shampoo, but don’t expect slippers, lotion, conditioner, etc. It was raining during our stay and the room felt damp. the heater was inadequate, it always felt cold in the room.
It doesn’t come close to luxury, but not a bad place to stay if your main objective is to go out and explore Nice.

Hôtel avec une situation géographique stratégique au coeur de Nice, les chambres sont comfortables et très belles, particulièrement apprécié le personnel très chaleureux; un seul bémol le hall n’est pas très grand.
