Mercure Nice Promenade des Anglais

Overall it’s a 3 – 4 star experience. The good things: get a Privileged room with frontal sea view and you will feel like being on the beach (but there will be some level of noise from traffic). The rooms have a modern design and layout.
WFI worked fine!
But there are some areas that need the attention from management: the reception area is a disaster (marks of heavy usage on furniture) and needs immediate attention. Thank god you do not have to sit or stay there.

We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was very generous and well laid out. Excellent coffee.
Across the promenade was the beach. Now, if you’re used to American beaches, this will be a new experience. It is a rock beach. Stones. You need water shoes or sandals or flip flops. Alongside the small beach is a café where you can rent a spot with a chair or umbrella. This is not cheap but it is how it is done here. You can set up there but you will be expected to make purchases. If you don’t like it, you can buy a beach chair or umbrella and set up on the small beach. Also not cheap but you can come and go and not have to repurchase your spot.
There are many restaurants in this touristy area. The seafood was wonderful. I ate at many fine places within a five minute walk if the hotel.

It’s OKAY hotel. Just okay, I don’t think it deserves to be a 3 star hotel. Two stars is enough. We had ocean view room but in front of the door of the room was a situation. So first day we got there the room next door was open and at night when we got back it smelled like shit, yes there was a pile of shit in front of our room and we called and told them but for three night or probably forever they won’t do anything about it. It’s unacceptable for a ‘three star hotel’ to have that kind of smell. The lobby, elevator n overall didn’t look like a three star hotel. The reception people were not that professional. I recommend other three star hotels in Nice.
