Viator Provence Countryside Small Group Day Trip

We booked the tour with a scenic drive up to the top of Eze which wasvery high up. We also stopped at a point where we could see down to Ville Franche Sur Mer which was breathtaking. Even better our tourguide pointed out Karl Lagerfeld’s house, drool… Then we were off to Monaco. We had about an hr. at the casino where I won 80 euros. Then we were dropped off at the Cathedral where we had another few hours. We saw Grace Kelly’s grave inside the Cathedral. We also got to see the changing of the guards at the palace. We had some delicious gelato and shopped for souvenirs. We found a cool toy shop with handmade toys from Europe. We purchased a hand carved wooden top and yo-​yo. We also found bought a very unique looking German stuffed animal. We got hungry and had an overpriced lunch at a restaurant that I would never go back to. It didn’t seem like Monaco had many affordable delicious lunch spots around the palace as it’s all tourist based. Our drive back was just as scenic and beautiful. Our tourguide was extremely knowledgeable and provided history with a good sense of humor. This tour allowed us to experience Monaco and Eze with our limited time schedule.

Wow. I am usually not a tour person (I prefer to do my own thing — free spirit that I am :), this was a fabulous exception, and I’m so glad I went through with it.
My friends had chosen this tour and we booked in advance, and I was having second thoughts about it, thinking it may be boring or tiresome. I was wrong.
The tour took us to Cannes, Gourdon, Grasse, Saint Paul de Vence and Loup Georges. Every stop was better than the last — we toured a candy factory, a perfumerie, saw the world-​famous Cannes red carpet, walked the cobblestone streets of Saint Paul de Vence, ate lunch in a gorgeous village overlooking the Alps… I couldn’t possibly ask for more in one lovely day.
Our tour guide, Thomas, was fantastic. So nice, full of info and a great sense of humor.
To top it off, we actually saw U2, the ENTIRE BAND, in a restaurant in Saint Paul de Vence!!! Seriously, it was the cherry on top of a magnificent day. Take this tour — you won’t regret it.
