This hotel has two major positives: location and concierge. For those two alone, this place should be your first choice when considering reasonably-priced(well, for Paris) hotels in Paris. First, let’s talk location. Rue de Buci is completely amazing. The amount of bars, restaurants, markets, shops on this street is exciting and so convenient — you really feel like you’re in the«heart of it all» and it’s incredibly convenient to have a grocery store just a block down the street to purchase cheap bottled water. Starting the night off by bar-hopping next to the hotel and ending the night with a few nightcaps at the nearby bars is also a wonderful convenience. You don’t need to search for places to eat or drink if you don’t want to — just walk outside of the hotel and you’ll be immersed in it all. Even better, there are two Metro stops within a two-minute walk of the hotel: St. Germain and Mabillon. Completely convenient. One of our favorite walks everynight was to walk from the Latin Quarter(also full of amazing restaurants, street food and bars), towards Notre Dame and then on Beaux-Arts, the pedestrian street that turns into Rue de Buci and traverses the heart of St. Germain. Besides location, the concierge here, Sanjay, is amazing. He’s certainly one of the best concierges I’ve every dealt with, even at 5-star hotels. Personable, classy, excellent English, full of suggestions and an expert organizer, he will plan and customize your stay for you if you ask. We asked him to make some dinner suggestions via email several weeks before our trip. He sent us several suggestions, we in turn looked them over and made our selections, and he made all the reservations for us – weeks in advance! No headache, no hassle, no awkwardness. This alone saved us a lot of time and hassle and allowed us to make some decisions with thought beforehand. We also left some unplanned time to make spur-of-the-moment decisions depending on our mood. The best vacations, in my opinion, are ones that have a clear framework to avoid hassle and disappointment, while still allowing for spontaneity in-between. It’s hard to strike that balance, but Sanjay allowed us to do so without being intrusive at all. The only negative of this place is that the rooms are small and sometimes loud. But it’s Paris and it’s silly to expect space or silence! As long as you’re accepting of this beforehand, you’ll enjoy this place. The rooms start at about 250 euros a night, sometimes less if you can get a good deal, sometimes more depending on the time of year. Pretty much on par with any of the other hotels in the same category on the Left Bank, but overall a better location and an outstanding concierge.

Our favorite place to stay when we’re in Paris. Forget the Right Bank, St. Germain/Latin is the place to be. The re-model is fabulous and the staff are the most gracious and professional ever. Mabillon station is right outside the door(corner Bvd St Germain/Rue du Four) for quick and easy get away. A couple of our favorite spots, Le Procope et Les Deux Magots are right around the corner. Its delightful to wake to the bell in the Abbey down the boulevard. Not to be missed. A real gem in St. Germain des Pres.

This hotel did not disappoint. Sanjay and his staff were impeccable. No request was too picky or in too short notice. It had a boutique feeling with very modern amenities, and it’s in a superb location. Clean, comfortable, not stuffy but provides the luxury treatment. If you’re going to Paris, stay here. You won’t regret it. Sorry if this review is written in Yoda-speak, I just got home, but couldn’t wait to post my praise on Unilocal

A cosy hotel in the heat of the Latin Quarter. Reasonably priced: the rooms are very small but very well decorated — you don’t feel like you’re slumming it. Popular with the fashion crowd(those who are paying their own way, that is).
