Auberge Internationale des Jeunes

Very basic & cheap yes ! This hostel is about ¹⁰⁄₁₅ minutes walk from ”Gare de Lyon” train station and about 2 minutes walk from ”Ledru-​Rollin” subway station. There are many coffee shops + restaurants around this hostel. Let’s go straight to the point, I paid 20 € for 1 night, yes very cheap in a expensive city like Paris, I actually wait to place to crash for few hours. Now, it’s important to know, the check in only at 3pm not before, as well, you cannot access your room between 11am & 3pm. The staff was just ok, free wifi of course. Honestly, this place should be demolished and rebuilt, it look old and nasty. The worst hostel I’ve stayed in my opinion, everything, sheets, noise, toilets, showers… Good luck !

For the price it’s okay if you only want to sleep there, but I wouldn’t recommend it to people who set value on a really comfortable accomodation. Our room had a window in direction to another building. So there was no daylight in it. I also didn’t like the atmosphere oft the breakfeast room. Everything looked a bit cheap, cold and loveless.

Die Jugendherbere liegt dafür aber so genial Zentral, dass das schon einiges wieder wettmacht!
Der Preis für die Übernachtung ist echt fair und in vielen Fällen fällt man nach Sightseeing oder Party ja ohnehin nur noch schlafand ins Bett…
Da das Publikum international und bunt gemischt, und vorwiegend jung ist, kommt man mit den Leuten sehr gut ins Gespräch!
Kein Nobelhotel, aber wer eine günstige Unterbringugn sucht, ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Auberge Internationale des Jeunes ist auf den ersten Blick eine recht spartanische Unterkunft.
Sie hat keine Küche, dafür aber eine Mikrowelle, die abends schon mal im Dauerbetrieb sein kann. Dort hats auch knarrende leichtbau Betten und spärlicher Beleuchtung, 1 Steckdose und 2 Waschbecken pro 3er-​Zimmer, 2 Toiletten für m/​w und eine 3 Gemeinschaftsduschen auf dem Gang (ich spreche hier nur für (etwas hellhörige) 3er Zimmer, 4er haben ihr eigenes Sanitär.
Zum Frühstück gibts leckere (manchmal zähe) Einheitsbaguettes mit einer Marmeladensorte, 3 Heißgetränkeautomaten decken zufriedenstellend alle Wünsche weitestgehend ab.
Die großartige Lage der Herberge ist ein dicker Pluspunkt. Man hat mit ein paar Schritten die Metrostation Ledru-​Rollin erreicht (oben in der Übersicht nicht aufgeführt) mit einer Haltestelle kommt man dann zur Station Bastille, wo man zwischen mehreren Linien auswählen kann. Auf dem Weg dorthin gibts 2 Supermärkte, 2 Pizzarias Bars, einen Tabakladen mit Briefmarken, einen McDonalds und allerlei andere kulinarische Delikatessen. Ums Eck befindet sich auch gleich ein Briefkasten.
Im Haus gibts 2 internetfähige PCs mit CardReader, USB Slot Textverarbeitung, allerdings kosten dort 10 Minuten arbeiten 1EUR, was dann doch ziemlich kostspielig wird. Die Mitarbeiter sprechen alle gut Englisch und sind super freundlich. Trifft man auch nicht immer.
Die Herberge ist von 11 – 16 Uhr wegen Reinigungsarbeiten geschlossen, welche man auch bemerkt. Alles ist recht sauber und wirkt aufgeräumt.
Alles in Allem also eine preisgünstige, saubere Unterkunft, mit der man zufrieden sein kann, wenn man abends abgeschafft und satt vom Trip nach Hause kommt.

Le confort (douches, propreté, mobilier…) n’est pas le point fort de l’hôtel, mais qu’importe: la localisation l’emporte sur tout le reste. Chambres de 2, 3 et 4 personnes; ces dernières seules sont équipées de douches et WC (pour les autres chambres, sanitaires et WC disponibles à l’étage).
Salle commune avec distributeurs de boissons, borne Internet, etc… Un melting-​pot de nationalités qui, au final, permettra au Péruvien venu draguer la Parisienne, de tomber amoureux d’une Japonaise.
Compter entre 14 et 20 euros le lit selon la période (avec petit-​déjeuner pour ceux qui né payeraient pas 1 euro pour un vrai croissant dans une vraie boulangerie du quartier).
Attention: il faut avoir moins de 35 ans pour coucher là !

Hi! I agree with the last commentary. This auberge don’t have a kitchen, they only give you a plastic plates, in the room have a little light that does not illuminated almost anything, the shower has water very small and very hot water, very small wash-​basin, … and many things that I want don’t remember.
The good only thing is the location, is placed in a central zone. To look for another auberge

Great, cool and very cheap hostel in Paris; Auberge International des Jeunes (
) is one of the best located Paris hostel; I’ve been there several times now; it is not what you could consider a party hostel, but it is extremely cheap, clean comfortable hostel; Bastille is really fun at night around the hostel you can find great restaurants, café, bars and even clubs; I really like the brasserie just in front of the hostel, you can have a great brunch for a moderate cheap price; there are other type of accommodation in Paris; check out more and book other hostels in Paris (

El lugar ideal para los estudiantes o simplemente jovenes que no desean gastarse mucho dinero en su estancia. Aunque el albergue sea barato las instalaciones están bastante bien, sobre todo limpias, además siempre está lleno de gente de distintas nacionalidades, asi que si te gusta conocer gente nueva, de diferente cultura y con otro habla este albergue colmará tus espectativas
