Autour du Moulin

Boire un rhum arrangé ou un demi ou un. Ok rail ou simplement grignoter ou manger un morceau un lieu très sympa ou ce retrouve souvent les gens du ciné 13 theatre situé à côté avec beaucoup de comédiens ambiance garantie

Je n’y suis allée que deux fois, le soir, pour un verre et je suis absolument fan des rhums arrangés! Ils en ont plusieurs dizaines et ça vaut le coup.
La personne qui y travaille le soir (un homme), est très commercial: il vous reconnait, ce qui est assez rare à Paris (bon, si on y va une fois tous les deux ans, je né sais pas :)).
Les deux fois, je suis restée jusqu’à la fermeture (2h?) et on a eu droit au petit rhum supplémentaire, cadeau de la maison.
Je n’y ai jamais mangé, je né sais pas ce que ça vaut, mais en tout cas, il faut y aller pour les rhums! (5,50 euros aux dernières nouvelles).

Un bar de quartier sympa pour prendre un verre loin de l’agitation touristique. Un endroit où l’on peut discuter tranquillement.
Pour ce qui est des plats, je n’ai pas testé.

When visiting Paris, one quickly gets seduced by la vie en rose, starts living like a pretend Parisian, and then has to face the impending reality that all good things must come to an end. Departing on a Tuesday, my heart began to sink the weekend before, realizing that our two week getaway was fast coming to its close. Our thoughts and conversations turned to where we should have our last dinner in Paris (sniff). I had decided that I wanted to go somewhere in Montmartre since that’s where we’d been staying and I had two candidates in mind: either Moulin de la Galette or Autour du Moulin. I’d read that there used to be more thin thirty working windmills (moulins) in Montmartre but now only two remain. We’d discovered both windmills and the nearby restaurants while strolling up to Sacre Coeur on two separate evenings. Moulin de la Galette looked like a beautiful romantic restaurant built on the ground floor of the windmill structure itself. Autour du Moulin is a restaurant at the end of a straight uphill climb and is across the street from the other windmill, itself perched high on a hill in a park. Looking down that street one gets an unobstructed view of the Dome Church where Napoleon is entombed at Invalides.
The menu at Autour is simple and not wanting something overly fancy or fussy, that’s where we chose to dine al fresco on our last night in la belle France. We had our choice of seats at the six tables outside and so sat right at one of the two in front to have an unobstructed view of the gold dome as the sun was starting to set. The owner there was friendly and even helped me work on sounding less American when pronouncing «carafe.» On this night we each ordered the 16 euro prix fixe menu which was either starter + main or main + dessert, and for the first time, decided to share the salad and dessert. The shared salad was basic and uninspiringly dressed with a thousand island type dressing. For the mains, Brian ordered poached salmon in a dijon sauce and I had a grilled veal chop in a creamy mushroom sauce. The sauce with his fish was a bit salty but I had no complaints about my veal. The pasta on the side though had obviously sat out after cooking because some if it had dried out. The molten chocolate cake was overcooked in that there was no liquid center, but it was still a delicious disk of chocolatey richness.
So on the food, Autour may not deserve the four stars I’m giving it, but it certainly rates four stars for ambience. As the sun set and the dome lit up, it got a bit chilly so we donned our cotton scarves to take the chill off and wondered if we looked like Parisians or just wannabes. An American woman joined two Spanish gentlemen at the table next to us and said to one of them, «You always know the perfect place in Paris with the perfect view.» And indeed she was right. It was a full circle moment because on our first full day in Paris fourteen days earlier we’d walked through the Place des Invalides on our way to the Eiffel Tower and enjoyed the Invalides’ gardens but didn’t know what the Dome Church was all about until we revisited a few days later with our museum passes. There are bigger landmarks than the Dome Church down near the Seine obviously, but any restaurant with a view of say Notre Dame or the Eiffel Tower would be packed with people. Autour du Moulin was not at all crowded (it was Monday I suppose) and just being enjoyed by a few folks in the know. Eventually it got too chilly for us, even with our chic scarves, so we moved inside for our coffee, where I observed a table of four eating American style cheeseburgers with forks and knives and having ketchup with their frites, surely a sign that it was time to make the transition from being a Parisian back to being a Washingtonian.

Attention je vais dire comme les autres: une bonne trouvaille que ce bar. Un peu isolé par rapport à la grosse rue des Abbesses, moins concept, moins touristique, on dirait un bar de quartier (déguisé en pub). Le service y est gentil, ce qui est rare sur la butte Montmartre.
La nourriture en général n’a pas l’air exceptionnelle (comme il en fut de notre plateau de charcuterie), mais on s’en fiche, les bières sont bonnes, et en plus y’a de la Delirum Tremens à la pression, et ça c’est quand même rare.
Tiens j’ai dit rare deux fois dans mon commentaire.

Une belle trouvaille que ce bar perché au sommet de la rue Tholozé, qui offre une petite vue sur Paris. La terrasse restreinte permet néanmoins de se poser et de profiter des boissons bon marché de ce bar: 4EUR le martini et autres apéritifs, 4,5EUR le verre de vin, ou encore 4EUR les bières. Le service est agréable et amical, ce qui rajoute au charme de cet établissement.

Autour du Moulin reste étonnamment un bistrot de quartier. La terrasse précaire an face du Moulin et devant la route en pente reste sympathique.
Le petit comptoir est animé par les habitués du quartier.
Les prix sont raisonnables. Le prix des boissons et des plats restent corrects.
Là on mange à n’importe quelle heure, les plats sont consistants et relativement bon marchés.
Dans une rue calme, agréable.

«Les ailes du Moulin protègent les amoureux» et les fêtards. Halte vivement conseillée lors de vos virées sur la butte, à deux pas de chez feu Dalida et loin du tumulte touristique montmartrois.
Ambiance taverne, rustique et chaleureuse: on espère surprendre les sept nains, la pinte à la main et la barbe dans l’assiette.
Le raffinement s’impose avec le lave-​main/​fontaine comme sur les paliers des chambres de bonnes parisiennes, si désuet donc tendance!
Point de non retour: la découverte des 22 saveurs de ti-​punch arrangés, home made, à déguster au comptoir ou sur la terrasse en pente douce.
Les soirées sont parfois bien trop courtes, d’autant plus quand il s’agit de savourer du Rhum… ;-p
