Got this room as an Express Deal on PriceLine. Stayed 4 nights. They handled my weird booking very well(two separate two night reservations). Nicely appointed, clean, but tiny room. And it was shaped really weird… like a piece of pie with the bathroom at the pointy end. The wide end was barely big enough to hold the queen sized bed. We just got off a river cruise, and this room and the river ship room were similarly sized, so we’re talking TINY. The bathroom was bigger, though. Nice shower, nice fixtures, plenty of hot water, no bath tub. The staff that manned the desk were friendly and spoke English. We didn’t really go much beyond check-in talk and hi/bye, so I’m not sure of their command of English, but it’s a heck of a lot better than my command of French! Weird visit from the mini-bar guy during a nap one day. I would expect that they’d just knock, and if someone was in there, they’d go away. Or at least wait for the guest to open the door. He just used his pass key, poked his head in and asked if we used any mini-bar stuff. Nope. He did remind us that the coffee(instant) was complementary and then left. Wow, that was weird. The metro line went right under the building, but it’s a low rumble that is easy to tune-out. The room had a window out to the«courtyard», so no view… but what do you want from a PriceLine buy? Free internet worked, sort-of. The first day, it was feeding my google maps android app pretty well, but after that, I would connect with a browser, pop over to the maps app to have it calculate a metro route for me, and after a minute or two, it would kick me off the Internet. That was annoying, but I could work around it. Then, our last night in the hotel, they kicked us off the Internet at 8:37pm(it said that in the connection confirmation page). I might have been able to call the desk and ask that it be extended, but I didn’t want to get into what might turn into a confusing discussion.

This is a charming boutique hotel on Rue Tronchet by Madeleine… It is next to a brasserie and if you don’t look closely, you might miss it! The entrance to the hotel is small, as in the check-in and lounge area. The previous Unilocaler, Richelle Q, was correct in stating the place was TINY! Size aside, my sister and I really enjoyed this hotel. The décor was very modern and the common areas and room very clean. I am not really sure why it was so dark in the tiny elevator though… We stayed in a standard room with one bed. If you have never stayed in a hotel in Paris, you will be so shocked by the size! But as far as Parisian boutique or business hotels, the size is quite standard. When you walk in, its basically a small desk and the bed… That’s it! There is barely any room to walk around. The room also has a small closet with hangers and an in-room safe. The shape of the bathroom was a little awkward but we loved that there was just a shower, no bathtub. The toiletries included shampoo and body gel by Lanvin. OooH LALA!~ FancY! The room also had a window, which would have been nice except for the fact ours had a ladder right outside so we didn’t want to leave it open. The best part of this hotel was the location. Located just a few hundred yards from Madeleine, Fauchon, and Rue Royale. It’s also a short distance to St. Honore… so basically shopping heaven! :) We did not have much interaction with the staff but they seemed nice for the most part. I gave minus 1 star for the slowness of the housekeeping. Check in was supposed to be at 2pm but we could not check in until almost 4pm because our room was still waiting to be cleaned. Also, on our second day, when we returned from lunch and shopping at 4pm, our room had not been cleaned as well. Oh. and did I mention the free Wi-Fi? Just ask the front desk for the passcode! I would gladly stay at this hotel again for my next trip in Paris

I’m not exactly sure why, but I did really enjoy this hotel. The place is TINY and very boutique-ish. There is only one computer downstairs and it wasn’t working. Although the«lounge» area, if you can call it that, is TINY, the décor was very funky and modern. The rooms have odd but workably fashionable décor. I loved the heated towel rack. Great location and a great view to Rue Tronchet out our window. Surprisingly quiet. The customer service was decent. remember decent customer service in Paris is EXTRA-ORDINARY. I’ve never seen such a small elevator in my lifetime, and probably never will. It could turn a non-claustrophobic person claustrophobic.
