Admittedly my review is 12 years late. I was last in Paris in Spring 2004. My mother had died the week before. I stumbled on this place by accident. The food was excellent! The service was beyond amazing! Memories: A 100+lb black dog came up and laid his head in my lap while waiting on our food(yes, this was inside). I loved it and begged them not to take him away. I am an animal lover and love that Parisians consider them family. After too much wine and a trip to the ladies room, I lost my mother’s wedding ring which I was wearing. She had passed away a week before. Halfway to the Metro, I realized the ring was missing and ran full speed back to the restaurant very hysterical and crying. No one spoke English. I was mixing up my VERY limited French & Spanish in an effort to communicate. I didn’t know the French word for mother and kept saying«madre». The chef went into the ladies restroom, grabbed the trash can and dumped it in the middle of the restaurant. Clink, clink, my mom’s wedding ring! Hugs ensued! Yes, I will dine at Bistro Neuf again someday…

I love the neighboorhood feeling of this bar, as soon as you step in you get that authentic parisian bistrot feeling. The place is full of regulars that informally talk with the owner. The owner is a real 9th arrondissement local, working in this bar since his young years until he took over from his parents. You can tell this place is familly run. Food is of great value and the beer selection is interesting. Wine is varied and«a la ficelle».
