The worst meal we had in Paris, no Europe, perhaps the worst meal ever. Ceasar Salad… brownish old lettuce drowned in dressing. The surly waiter told us this is how the French prefer lettuce. A mandatory tip was the final insult.

As another reviewer said, ducked in here to get out of the rain and was exhausted from shopping at Galerie Lafayette. Bottom line, food was okay. They allowed me to make a substitution on the fixed price menu due to a food allergy. The service, however, was dreadful. Rude-er and surly-er than the average French waiter by reputation. I tried to call over what appeared to be a manager and was completely ignored. I saw another table try to talk to the«manager» and he told them to talk to their waiter. Very slow service. Basically, I wouldn’t return again nor would I recommend.

Pretty busy touristy place. They brought a capped large bottle of Evian that was obviously tap water from the first sip. They took my wife’s bread knife, replaced it with a steak knife, and then put the bread knife back in the clean knife drawer. Overall the quality of the place is awful, but the wait staff, although very busy, were very nice.

My family and I came in here to get away from the rain after a day of heavy shopping at the Galeries Lafayette. Being a chronic meat eater, I ordered their carpaccio. The meat was really rubbery although I did like the pesto sauce that they put on it! The order also came with a side of fries which were okay but a little weirdly soggy. Even though the food was a bit of a downer, I have to say that the staff here were all really nice. My waiter kept on making funny jokes and trying to speak Chinese to throughout our entire meal. If my review was solely based on service, I would be giving Café de L’Opera a higher rating.
