I actually liked the place, just cause of the atmosphere when we sat outside n the food was decent so I went back a couple of times n liked it till today, when my friends n I saw not one but 3 RATS inside the restaurant! Absolutely unacceptable!!! We cancelled all our orders n walked out n the staff didn’t even look surprised which means it happens a lot! Completely disgusting. Never going back.

50 mn d’attente entre la commande et le service d’une formule du jour et salade, l’eau de la carafe a un arrière goût de vin, les plats s’avèrent généreux en matières grasses… Seule la salade de fruit et le café tirent leur épingle du jeu …

Great service, great atmosphere. Great views for people watching. We ordered a bottle of wine, beer and a cheese plate. The cheese plate was filling & big enough that we didn’t order dinner (party of 2)! The chocolate cake was delicious. The only con was that we ordered a beer in the beginning, which wasn’t ever brought to the table… but was put on the bill; we alerted our waiter and it was kindly taken care of. Great casual place for drinks and aperitifs.

Great service, lively atmosphere and full menu (husband loved the carbonara), we had the cheese plate and omlettes too… Great pricing compared to other brasseries in the square– we found this location to be our favorite in the place de la Republique!

The red awning and festive atmosphere drew us to this café yet I wish we hadn’t been forced by the cold to make a quick decision on dinner location. The food was fair, the portions small give the prices, and the service poor. Although some in our party were fluent French speakers, once the waiter heard us speak English, he treated us with disdain. He ignored the table and took longer than usual to bring dessert and the check. No part of the meal was strong enough for us to want to visit again, and the service certainly will have us looking elsewhere on the street.

This is a very nice French Bistro, exactly as you would expect: Great food at great prices. Yes, service is not US-​style attentive, but wasn’t a problem either. This place has atmosphere and everything was delicious (goat cheese, foie gras, and entrecôte were particularly good). Definitely recommended.

The food is good well we only had the cheese plate and coffee but we enjoyed it. As the other reviewers mentioned the service is lacking. We spilled a glass of wine and were made to pay for it which can happen fine but I also asked for napkin after using the bathroom and was told with a frown to use the hand dryer mind you I am eating here and this is the manager and he is standing next to a pile of napkins.

ABOMINABLE. Agreed by all parties when we went, French and otherwise, that it was the worst service ever encountered. We didn’t eat, but the food was clearly reheated/​packaged as it arrived within 3 minutes of when people ordered, and these were steaks, pasta, and the like. Avoid, boycott, whatever you do don’t go. Places like this that make the French despair for the state of food in Paris.

We ordered Croque Monsieur, Steak with Fries, Salmon Pasta, Chicken Burger and Shrimp Risotto.
The only complaint we had was that the Risotto was cold and had sent it back to reheat.
Overall, the meal was average. Nothing exceptional. Great location at Place de la Republique.
