My favorite croissant in Paris are here, and that is saying something as I really hunted around for the best. These are buttery, soft, and light, paired perfectly with some raspberry jam from the grocery around the corner. Everything else I tried here was wonderful as well, especially the canele.

Newport Beach, CA
My daughter and I did a taste challenge this morning between Carton, Paul and Eric Kayser. These are the three bakeries within steps of each other.
Blindfolded, I chose Caron as the best tasting. My daughter chose Paul as her top choice with Carton a close second. Both of us agreed that Erick Kayser was the worst. Like, not even close.
Carton for the win!

Jolie pâtisserie non loin de l’Odéon proposant tout plein de succulents gâteaux (on né sait que choisir), j’ai eu du mal à me décider entre la Macaronade, l’Opéra, la Forêt Noire, et finalement j’ai pris une barquette aux marrons (un régal)!
On peut avoir un bon choix pour moins de 4 euros, ce qui reste raisonnable mais il faut dire que la qualité est au rendez-​vous!
De plus, on a droit à un bon accueil et on repart tout content en se jurant de revenir un jour!

My first éclair in Paris and it tasted so good that I could have eaten more then just one :) be careful: don’t come here with an empty stomach :))
Delicious, nice fresh fluffy dough with a superb chocolate pastry cream which wasn’t too sweet. Perfection!
Lovely staff and one éclair is for 2.50 €. Great dessert!

We stopped in here for some sweet things after crêpe breakfast. I can’t remember all the different things that the wife got – tarts, long things, round things, some with fruit, some with caramel, whew, it is exhausting trying to keep up with someone who is dedicated to trying one of every dessert that exists in Paris. The round thing with caramel and nuts was the best, ever I liked it.

Carton est une pâtisserie située au cœur du quartier Saint Germain. Cette pâtisserie/​boulangerie propose toute sorte de gourmandises — pâtisseries, gâteaux ou chocolats. Mon préféré reste l’éclair — ok, peut-​être pas un choix très original, mais une valeur sûre.
Beaucoup de produits sont déjà présentés en petit sachets entourés de jolis rubans colorés et prêtent à être offert comme cadeaux. Il faut être patient car à chaque fois que j’y suis allée le week-​end, la queue s’étendait jusque dans la rue. Carton est sûr de satisfaire vos petites envies et comblera vos papilles.
