Les couscous sont extrêmement copieux, le décor est très sympa et l’ambiance chaleureuse.

Des années que je n’avais pas déguster un couscous, j’ai entraîner mon chéri dans cet établissement. Pari réussi car nous avions que 45 minutes avant notre séance de cinéma juste en face. Le serveur nous a garanti que niveau Timming c’était faisable. Un peu d’attente pour un soir de semaine, petit conseil réserver pour les soirs de week-​end/​ou groupes car vous risquez d’attendre longtemps.
Pendant la file d’attente, les plats vous passent sous le nez, vous donne l’eau à la bouche. Le décor, l’odeur vous fait voyager.
Les serveurs sont d’une gentillesse, souriant !
La quantité est suffisante voir trop ! Né prenez pas un petit apéro avant sinon les assiettes né seront pas fini.
Et prenez votre temps pour déguster ces plats copieux car est disposé Un plat chauffant est sur la table. A l’occasion j’y retourne et je prend l’assiette de pâtisserie proposée

Excellent food, and very good lunch menu (16 euros for an appetizer & main or main & desert during week days).
I love their pastries, and you can even choose them from a large plate when you take the lunch menu.

Wow! So MUCH food and all of it so tasty. Get there early if you can — by the time we left around 8pm the line for a table was out the door. If you don’t understand French not a big deal — just bring a dictionary or ask for an English one. I got the two chicken skewers with the Asian rice and my boyfriend got the Couscous Bebert. In all honesty, we probably only needed his one order because his came with a huge plate of couscous, the meat, and about 4 different bowls of different vegetables in a a sauce/​soup. The price wasn’t bad either — for both of our dishes with half bottle of wine it came to 47 €. The service was pretty good — servers seemed rushed but the place was packed.

Le Personnel: Très classe — chemise blanche, costard cravate — ou chemise noire et pantalon à pince assortis. Très agréables et souriants.
Nous y sommes allés deux fois.
La première fois pour un couscous copieusement servis avec un service rapide le soir. Les plats sont gardés au chaud sur la table.
Le dessert était très gourmand. Je vous recommande les glaces orientales et les pâtisseries, excellentes.
Nous avons bu du guerrouane rosé un bon vin marocain qui se marie bien avec le couscous, conseillé par le serveur.
La deuxième fois nous avons pris seulement les grillades le midi avec des frittes — toujours aussi bon et aussi copieusement servis.
Par contre le service était plus lent cette fois là, car j’ai commencé à manger avant mon mari qui lui n’était pas encore servi. Le serveur s’est excusé du retard.
Nous vous conseillons de vous y rendre dès l’ouverture car il y a non-​seulement les touristes mais aussi les habitués, la file d’attente est assez importante.
Une habituée nous a dit de réserver les samedis et dimanches par précaution.

Accueil détestable, toujours pas de menu et de commande au bout de 20 mn, je suis reparti.

My family came to this place as it was close to our hotel. After a long day of walking we just wanted a light dinner before heading back.
We had wanted to order an appetizer and 3 main dishes but the waiter unapologetically insisted we have to order 5 mains for our party of 5. He then briskly walked away. When he came back, I explained in my limited french that we wanted a light meal plus our elderly mother cannot eat very much. When he insisted again, I spoke in simple english to hopefully get my point across but he cut me off and said very rudely and loudly, no english! He stormed off. At this point we decided to leave. He ruined our whole evening!
I don’t care how good their food is, you do not treat your customers like that. I have never experienced service like this anywhere. Please avoid this place, it’s just not worth it!

Il faut venir pas trop tard pour être sûr d’avoir une place ! Le couscous est excellent et les pâtisseries aussi ! En plus les serveurs sont adorables :))

Chez Bébert est un grand établissement relativement réputé autour de Montparnasse. A l’allure d’un grand bistro parisien, on y vient ici uniquement pour les tajines et les couscous. Très spacieux à l’intérieur, on arrive à trouver une place sans trop attendre étant donné le turn-​over, il y a un nombre de table relativement impressionnant, j’ose même pas imaginer la quantité de semoule servie à la minute !
J’ai opté pour la tajine d’agneaux aux pruneaux, misant sur un plat sucré salé, miam ! Servi dans un plat en terre cuite très généreusement rempli et accompagné de la semoule à part, il y a de quoi satisfaire tous les appétits, y compris les moins modestes. Un véritable délice oriental avec ses amandes, raisins et abricots sec qui donnent un goût extra à la viande et son jus.
Le service est rapide et efficace, à peine ma cuillère avait touché le sol en la faisant tomber, qu’une autre m’était tendue par un serveur… Ils ont également du bon vin du maghreb à tester.
Pour finir, rien de mieux qu’un thé à la menthe plutôt qu’un dessert, de toute façon, peu ont faim après avoir mangé leur plat !
Une bonne adresse pour un dîner à 4 ou 5 en famille ou entre amis.

Ce restaurant est a éviter ! après presque une heure d’attente, le couscous servit était insipide la Semoule froide, la viande trop cuite. Les serveurs sont d’une impolitesse impressionnante et les prix eu sont bien gras. Dégustez donc un couscous ailleurs !

Bön par contre c’est un peu l’anarchie: attente importante malgré une réservation (mais nous étions un groupe ce qui, vu le resto, était risqué :)
Excellente ambiance: nous avons bien mangé et passé un moment convivial malgré un confort un peu limité.
Par contre: j’ai testé une fois en livraison et je né le referai pas. C’est arrivé à la mauvaise heure (1h39 d’avance tout de même …), ils ont refusé de revenir plus tard et vu les prix sur de la livraison, je n’ai pas du tout apprécié de réchauffer au microonde.

Nous avons eu la chance d’arriver pile à temps pour avoir une table. Le repas est très bon, à la hauteur des prix annoncés qui me semblent très honnêtes, le service est sympathique. On attends un peu par moments, mais il y a du monde et on passé une bonne soirée malgré la promiscuité entre tables.

A friend and I went to this restaurant yesterday for lunch. We had no problem getting seated and our waiter was very friendly and helpful, giving advice on what to order and suggesting a good Moroccan wine to pair with our meal. We had the Mixed Grille couscous and it was delicious, perfectly spiced with light, delicate flavors that were just wonderful. We had Orange Cannelle for dessert and it was a clean, fresh ending to a great meal. The waiter was so courteous and attentive throughout our meal, and brought us two shots of a cherry liqueur when we finished as digestifs. This restaurant is well worth a stop, and we will definitely be back before we leave Paris.

When in Paris, one dinner must be a full Moroccan feast. Unilocal and the hotel staff said Chez Bebert was highly recommended.
I was expecting a wait, but I do have to take off a star because they kept giving our table away! It became horribly annoying and I eventually had to speak up.
Once we were seated, the ambiance wasn’t rushed at all. We ordered a bottle of wine and tons of food. The meats, beans and vegetables were spectacular. The chicken was my favorite. So buttery and juicy!
We were given an apéritif on the house for our wait, but towards the end we were happily stuffed.
Worth the wait and the hype!

The food was very good. Getting a table was an exercise in patience. The line was out the door. We slowly worked our way to the front of the line. I spent the hour we waited trying to figure out the method of seating people. I came to the conclusion it was at the whim of the host. We were a party of two. After being told twice that the next table was ours, and then being passed over for people in line behind us, I was no longer puzzled. At that point my daughter was thinking of leaving but I vowed to stay until they turned the lights out for the night! We were eventually seated I think just to get us out of the way. The waiter did not like what I ordered (because it did not have meat). He brought me an English menu to rectify my foolish ways. We ordered and I am pretty sure that they just brought us what they wanted us to have anyway. It was a mass quantity of various meats, bean and couscous. It was worth the wait. I got a raised eyebrow when I ordered a whole bottle of wine. Ha. Watch out for the large green pepper they use for garnish. It is hotter than Hades.

My wife and I were wandering through Paris looking for dinner one night (in July 2014), when we happened by this Moroccon place. She is a sucker for food from the middle east. I read somewhere that Moroccon food was to Paris as Indian food was to London, so we decided to give it a try. The décor and the music was very authentic and transported us to a far off, exotic land. As we were looking at the menu and staring at people eating around us, a waiter who spoke English saw the confusion on our faces and came to rescue us. I admitted that I had never eaten Moroccan food, but was very excited to try it and asked for his recommendations. He then gave us the rundown on what the food was and how it was prepared. We were intrigued and now very excited. He helped us come to some decisions on what to eat and then checked on us as the meal went along.
So, I ordered the couscous Bebert, which was a meat medley of 2 Moroccon Sausages, chicken, a skewer of lamb, a long chili pepper and another slow cooked lamb not on a skewer. My wife ordered the legumes couscous, which was a vegetable dish. It had a big white bowl of what tasted like a «beat based broth» with carrots and potatoes. Around the «lazy suzan was several small dishes filled with different vegetables including, white raisins, roasted chick peas, white beans, a very spicy concentrated curry type paste, potatoes/​carrots/​zucchini, and a large dish of couscous.
As soon as they took our menus away, the waiter brought a Moroccan appetizer tray which included cold beats, cooked carrots, a sauteed onion and pepper dish, cabbage, carrots and pearl onions, sauteed spicy potatoes, olives and a couple of cheese pastry, all to be eaten with toothpicks. We were afraid that we had somehow bought an appetizer we didn’t realize we ordered, but, not to worry– It was complimentary. Wow! When the entrees came, they were covered in some sort of a tagine top. Very impressive presentation. When our waiter lifted the top, it was time to get it on. We were instructed to start by piling up a couple of spoon-​fulls of couscous and then add to it– any and all of the rest of either of our entrees over top. Then complete the dish with a spoon-​full of the sauce from the white bowl over the top. So, off we went. We learned that one must be careful not to go too heavy on the couscous because it is very filling and expands in your stomach. If you are reading this, you should go easy on the couscous so you can get down on the good stuff. It was delicious!
And thanks to the awesome wait staff, we were able to try something completely new and really get stuff we liked. Great meal and very memorable experience!

It took us 15 minutes for the waiter to come and ask what we wanted to eat. The staff were more concerned about the World Cup match more than their customers. After the waiter took our order, it took another 30 minutes for the food to come out.
The food was good, but the service was very poor.

Arriver par contre le soir sur les coups de 19H pour être sur de né pas faire la queue dehors !

We were staying at a nearby hotel and were looking for something in the 15 – 20 euro price range. Chez Bebert received favourable reviews on Unilocal,and it did not disappoint.
The location and décor are great: right at the corner of Montparnasse and Rennes, the window seats look out across the busy intersection. The interior is done up in lush North African décor that gave it a wonderful atmosphere. The service, provided by two male servers, was attentive and polite.
As young, cheap, student tourists we ordered the two cheapest types of couscous: chicken and Merguez sausage, 15 and 16 euros respectively. We were expecting two bowls of couscous; they brought out a feast! There were large dishes of couscous and cooked vegetables (zucchini, carrots, and squash) to share – more than enough, and I can eat a lot – along with smaller shared dishes of sauce, chickpeas and white beans in oil. The meat arrived atop lettuce leaves on a metal tray was placed on a rack over a small torch; the heat filled our area with more delicious aromas. All-​in-​all, we received two large platters of food, three smaller dishes of legumes and oils, two chicken kebabs and four wild-​looking Merguez sausages, plus our two eating bowls. Even considering the exchange rate, this would have been an excellent value meal in Canada, which seems rare in Paris.
The chicken was grilled and had smoky and citrus flavours, but the sausage, however, turned out to be the star of the show: bright, almost neon, red, delightfully spiced, and all-​around perfect. The couscous was excellent, and the vegetables, after too many days of croissants and pain au chocolats, were welcome and delicious. As I previously mentioned, I can eat a lot. For 31 euros, the two of us were STUFFED. We barely finished all we were given, yet it was too good to want to leave any behind.
We ate a lot of excellent meals in Paris, and this was definitely one of the top two or three.

Joli déco! Bouffe à tomber par terre tellement c’est bon! Service agréable! Trés bon rapport qualité/​prix !
Deux choses embêtantes: trop grosse quantité! Même un obèse n’arriverait pas à finir son plat !
Il y’ aussi énormément de monde le soir ! Heureusement je n’ai jamais eu à faire la queue mais ça doit être déprimant de faire la queue pendant 1h voire + …

Plusieurs passages au restaurant Chez Bébert ces dernières années, dont deux récemment: il est temps de rédiger un avis.
La salle de restauration est joliment décorée mais un peu sombre et assez étroite: chaque centimètre d’espace est rentabilisé, alors si la proximité vous dérange, mieux vaut passer votre chemin car vous risquez d’être très proches de vos voisins et de tout suivre de leurs conversations.
A la carte: des plats traditionnels marocains (plusieurs choix de tagines et de couscous) mais également des grillades (coquelet rôti, côtes d’agneau, brochettes, poulet, etc.) A déplorer toutefois, l’absence de couscous boulettes.
Lors de mon dernier passage j’ai pris la formule midi à 16.90 € (entrée/​plat ou plat/​dessert) qui, contrairement à ce qu’indique la carte, est disponible le samedi midi. J’ai choisi le croustillant de chèvre au miel et un couscous merguez; mon ami prend la brick à l’œuf et un tagine canard et figues.
Malgré la forte affluence du restaurant, les plats arrivent très rapidement, quelques minutes après la commande. Mon croustillant est effectivement très croustillant, le chèvre fort en bouche mais pas piquant, le mélange chèvre/​miel vraiment réussi. Mon couscous est satisfaisant mais mes saucisses un peu sèches. Les quantités sont correctes, même dans la formule. Le tagine de mon ami est la vraie bonne surprise: viande et figues fondantes à souhait et une semoule aux raisins délicieuse et sucrée à point.
Le service a été souriant et sympathique du début à la fin et le serveur a eu la gentillesse de nous apporter le traditionnel assortiment kémia avec nos apéritifs, alors qu’il n’est normalement pas servi si on prend la formule.
Les prix sont un peu élevés mais restent corrects pour la qualité et la quantité sachant que la semoule, le bouillon et les légumes sont à volonté.
Une valeur sûre du quartier Montparnasse.

I realize that as a tourist I’m likely the lowest espece d’idiot in their eyes, and also that friendly service is the exception to the rule in Paris. Even so, no need for the waiter to shoot me a die bitch look completely unprovoked, yes? Turned around and left, don’t need the aggravation, merci.

Wonderful ambience, great food and — if you’re a regular — very attentive and helpful staff.
Just make sure you get there early — or book a table: starting from 2000, it’s getting crowded and the waiting line extends from inside the restaurant onto the sidewalk!

Je me rappelle de leur mechoui de mouton fondant et infinissable, servi avec ses légumes à couscous et sa semoule… Un délice.
Cadre dépaysant, service sur grand plateau argenté.

Sympa mais service à revoir
Ce restaurant est sympathique, les plats sont bons et copieux (un peu chers tout de même aussi…). Mais rien d’extraordinaire. Serveurs peu agréables et à peine arrivés, on nous a servi dans les 10 minutes qui ont suivies. Pas vraiment le temps de se poser et discuter. Il a fallu «enchaîner».

Service trop rapide
Le couscous est bon, c’est surtout sur le service que je n’ai pas été très satisfaite. En effet, la commande passée, il n’a pas fallu plus de 10 minutes avant que le couscous n’arrive, et à la fin du repas on nous a fait comprendre qu’il fallait se dépêcher car il y avait la queue ! Le serveur s’impatientait. Nous n’y retournerons pas, sachant qu’il y a des petits restaurants dont le couscous est aussi bon et l’accueil plus agréable.

It just keeps being great. It’s not great food, it’s a great place with really good food and each time there is a great time.
I had lunch here last week and it was terrific. Even the chicken kebob, which is not what I ordered, was great. I ordered the roasted chicken, and although I really wanted what I ordered, the substitute was delicious. Just not as soft and plentiful.
The zucchini, carrots and turnips, the gonzo beans and white kidney beans and couscous all came together with a house bottle of the Algerian red to make a great 50 euro meal once again.
I simply believe this is the go to place in Paris and recommend the same to you.

C’est bon mais sans plusservice rapide et souriant

Après 1h15 d’attente nous avons été installé Oui, le samedi soir, c’est plein à craquer. On était un groupe de 4, ce qui n’a pas été en notre faveur pour réduire le temps d’attente.
Par chance, nous étions dans un box, loin de l’entrée, et du coup assez coupé du bruit. Le décor est très Disney! Les serveurs sont neutres tendance je fais une blague de temps en temps ce qui né déplaît pas, bien au contraire.
A table, 31EUR par personne pour un apéro, un plat, un dessert et une bouteille de vin. Raisonnable.
Un bon plateau d’amuse gueule est compris dans l’apéro!
En sortant, on n’a absolument plus faim! La digestion est même un peu longue
A faire une fois, mais éviter le samedi soir. Eviter d’être à deux, à défaut d’être sur une table collée à un autre couple. Eviter d’être + de 4.

Oui, pas mal, car ils ont fait un vrai effort sur la déco, on s’y croirait et on est servi en quelques minutes à peine.
Le problème est que ce restaurant est victime de son succès, car si nous sommes très vite servis, c’est pour pouvoir passer au client suivant encore plus vite. Inutile peut-​etre de préciser qu’il vaut mieux réserver?
Mais le service est malgré tout très courtois et agréable.
Le couscous traditionnel était plutôt bon, je né suis malheureusement pas une experte dans ce domaine.

Chez Bébert, c’est un restaurant marocain dans l’angle de la rue à Montparnasse. C’est effectivement un bon restaurant à couscous. Bön marché et copieux.

French friends took us there two years ago and all of us enjoyed 3 types of couscous: the chicken and merguez was delicious! The place was crowded but we were seated promptly and waited on very well; our then-​9 year old still talks of the couscous there even though it was his first experience with that food.
This fall we went back there for lunch and had a sunny table next to the windows, and we enjoyed our merguez and chicken couscous with North African red wine recommended by the maitre. All was incredibly tasty and fresh, the experience is really satisfying.

Chez Bebert was my first exposure to Moroccan food. I love the basins of couscous, I love the soft seasoned vegetables, I love the prevalence of tomato – I just love this place.
I even love the snobbish waiter who taught me how to say check in French: l’addition.
Follow the Rue de Rennes towards the tall building; it’s located at the corner. The menu is exclusively French, so do some guessing like I did! But for vegetarians out there, look for dishes with the aloe vera symbol next to them.

Bq de monde, pas de reservation, mais un service efficace et pro, des prix honnêtes et surtout un choix important de couscous et tajines.
Arrivée avt 20h conseillée.

Very busy in the evening so either get there early or just wait.
Service is very fast because of the nature of the food you are ordering: couscous or tagine that don’t require individual portion cooking.
Couscous are of different variety with all type of meat and even a couple of veggie option (that’s rare).
The couscous itself is very good, probably not the best in Paris but still of very good quality.
Do try the Morrocan lager, it’s nice.

This restaurant is a Moroccan restaurant! If you like oriental food this is the place to come! They serve couscous and tajine’s as well as their famous traditional pastry’s, made with honey and Almonds! I would recomend this restaurant, knowing that you are well served!
