Chez Davido

Au début, on trouve quelque chose de bizarre…
Une crêperie qui propose aussi des pâtes!
Mais pourquoi pas!
Au final, je n’ai jamais testé les pâtes encore mais Chez Davido, l’une de mes crêperies fétiches du quartier :)
Le cuisinier est juste adorable et est très très attentif aux clients :)
Les galettes et les crêpes sont généreuses et excellentes (le prix de la galette est plus élevé que ses concurrents dans le quarter mais la qualité est aussi au dessus du quartier)
Par contre, prenez le soin de réserver!
Chez Davido, c’est tout petit petit!
Et c’est donc très intimiste!

Quel astucieux mélange que la cuisine bretonne et italienne ! Moi qui né prends jamais de pâtes car je sais bien les faire chez moi, là je me suis laissée tenter par des Carbonara ! Ça faisait longtemps que je n’en n’avais pas mangé. C’était très bon ! Les pâtes maison, c’est quelque chose… Miam ! Les plats tournent autour de 9 – 10 €. Et en désert, une bonne crêpe avec caramel beurre salé maison et glacé vanille. Entre 6 et 8 € les desserts. Tout est décoré avec soin dans l’assiette. Le chef vient toujours vérifier si tout va bien et nous explique sa passion. Il est très généreux et ça se sent dans l’assiette.
Petit moins: le Resto est tout petit donc c’est assez serré et très compliqué qu’on veut accéder aux WC! Mais à part, je recommande vivement cet endroit qui propose un mélange originale de 2 cuisines délicieuses.
Se garer est assez compliqué dans le coin mais il y a parking qui propose un forfait soirée à 8 € de 19h à 1h. Intéressant !
Le Resto se trouve dans une petit rue face à un square. Ça doit être très agréable l’été.

Visited October 7^th, 2015 — Lunch
So we’re in Paris, searching the internet for a 5 star restaurant with minimal pricing… We found Chez Davido and decided to give it a shot at lunch even though the reviews said it was really small with few tables, but they did take reservations and since it was lunchtime, we got lucky. I think I counted 6 tables… with 1 or 2 more on the outside.
Mr. Davido was there as they opened and greeted us warmly. Not great English to go with my not great French, but we decided on his recommendations and were somewhat pleased. (I’ll explain)
My dish of what I would call rigatoni (not exactly sure what he called it) (see attached picture was terrific. Cooked al dente with a nice creamy tomato sauce, some grilled sausage which could be one of the best meals I had during my vacation in Paris.
Now my wife had a rather large crêpe with ham and cheese, but it also contained some sausage which I THINK was some kind of intestine… pig intestines I believe or «chitterlings». I’m not sure, so please don’t quote me. When my wife and I shared a bite of each other’s meals… I noted an ‘odd’ taste. If I had to guess, I would say the «chitterlings» was not cleaned thoroughly. Since my wife didn’t say anything, neither did I. All I know was that I was glad I had ordered my dish and not hers. She did tell me later that she did notice an «odd» taste, but it didn’t seem to bother her as much as it did me.
(I would later encounter this same taste in an «andouille» sausage in a different restaurant. I could not eat that one even a little bit, but that’s another story.)
The salad they served was also terrific. A great vinaigrette with some nice crumbled blue cheese.
Oh and you do have to try their Mojito breton! I though we were ordering a beer and got the best Mojito my wife and I have ever had.
I really don’t want to discourage anyone, because Davido really is an excellent chef with a terrific wait staff of 1. My dislike of what he might have put in his crêpe could be all in my head and not him at all, since I saw the crêpe dish go out several more time with no complaints, not even from my wife.

Petit Resto qui a ouvert il y a peu, et propose une carte bretonne/​italienne: attention ce n’est pas un mélange des deux, mais plutôt un choix entre une bonne crêpe maison, ou un plat de pâtes artisanales. J’ai testé à emporter le menu Crêpe contenant la crêpe (base tomate/​crème fraîche + formage + 2 ingrédients au choix) avec une salade fraîcheur et la boisson: pour 6 € c’est un bon rapport qualité prix, la crêpe est bien cuite, la salade fraîcheur bien fournie!
