Wonderfully helpful staff. Also, the chocolate pieces were fantastic. I got a dark something and a pistachio piece, as well as a bar or two of dark chocolate. The two small pieces were wonderful. I can’t wait to try the bars. Not to mention the amazing atmosphere and sculptures.

Wonderful little shop. Msr Rouchoux himself assisted me with this beautiful box(for my mother), shook my hand and held the door for me. The chocolates are like works of art(see pictures). Anyone who says Parisians are rude should be tarred and feathered.

Amazing, quality chocolatier. The shopkeeper was really helpful in explaining how to keep the chocolate fresh for as long as possible and very clear in explaining that if you want to buy chocolates as souvenirs then this is not the place for you. She wasn’t rude at all, but very clear. Oh well, more for me! Everyone below mentioned the truffles. Try them. They may give you a sample as you browse the store. Take it. Then buy a box. They are that good. Also of note are the sculptures, they have beautifully molded chocolate letters and numbers but also animals like frogs, dogs, even hedgehogs and oddly enough, babies. Check them out!

Some of the best truffles, little cubes of ganache, dusted with cocoa. Beautiful sculptures, and this mouth watering hazelnut praline spread that puts Nutella to shame! A tiny little shop, I only found it because I was staying down the street. Being a chocoholic, I had to try some, and came back twice after reading about the hazelnut spread.

Beautiful chocolate sculptures abound in this small shop, but that’s not the end of the creativity here. Three things jumped out at me: 1. tiny little cubes of ganache perfection. These were adorable and just melt in your mouth. If I lived in Paris, I’d be swinging by here weekly to buy ‘em fresh. 2. adorable Maker’s Mark bourbon chocolates, completely with a little wax seal on top! 3. the AMAZING chocolate carrousel — I can’t describe it so I’ve added a photo of it here. It’s so cool and unique, I really should’ve bought one but i know i’d never find refills here in the US. Expensive, but you can tell it’s high quality product here.

Rochoux’s creations are part Hummel, part Donatella Versace as represented by Saturday Night Live, and fully fully fully decadent. Delicious. Deliriously divine. Whether it’s the vivid and colorful animals that you’re into or rippled musculature delicious even to the eyes(le torse, a sculpture made of dark chocolate, is a big attraction here and completely kinky in its implications), nothing here could possibly disappoint on the tongue. Look around for a bit and then ask for a taste of the amazing ganache cubes. It’s the most unassuming item here in the middle of this lush cacao-enrobed menagerie. Tiny cubes of cocoa-dusted ganache no bigger than my pinky fingertip line small boxes corner-to-corner, shamefully standing in their dull, terra cotta-hued selves. Surrounded by all the figurines with their buttery sheen finish, it definitely stands out in its austerity. If you’re permitted a taste, as I was, as soon as you pop it into your mouth the silky ganache yields any semblance of structure it had and flows into your mouth like a river. I think I went blind for a second when this happened; it was so good. And this is how you become a slave to a tiny cube of chocolate. The confection is finicky. As they are just chocolate and a high concentration of cream, they need to be refrigerated and eaten in about a week. But I can’t think of anyone who would ever be able to keep this in their fridge for more than a day and a half without it all… disappearing. Shame spirals never tasted so good.
