It is really hard to give a place with friendly staff and acceptable rooms only two stars but here’s why: Room(2⁄5): recently renovated, modern looking room with a tiny flat screen TV. However, HUGE design flaw: the bathroom. While seemingly ultra-modern and even posh, the shower is designed with no barrier to the rest of the bathroom! The entire bathroom flooded each and every shower(x3 people) until we decided to make a barrier with dirty towels. Layout(1⁄5): No elevator from street. Stairs to reception area on 1st floor. Then, more stairs down a hallway and an entire flight of stairs before reaching elevator, which only allowed access to floors 2 – 4. If you were on the 5th floor you’d need to go up more stairs to get to your room! The elevator also had a max weight of 300kg so only one person + suitcase could use it at a time before the alarm would sound. You also can’t take the key with you and must leave it at the counter each time(typical for Europe I suppose, but a bit of a hassle). Staff(4⁄5): Very friendly staff and very accommodating! No complaints here! Neighborhood(0⁄5): Very sketchy/dodgy area. You could really question if you were even in Europe or a 3rd world country. We had to immediately leave the area before even attempting to wander around or find something to eat. WiFI(0⁄5): Constant issues, had to end up buying a SIM card. It does upset me when traveling with 3 people that you do not get 3 log-in codes, and we only got 1. Made navigating and researching sites a real hassle. My pet peeve. Overall, I would not stay here or anywhere remotely close to this Hotel. I will definitely try to research areas better in the future because I don’t think that cheapest really equals best when you consider the area around a hotel.
