What a cool cutlery(ok… knife) shop. Beautiful custom pieces from Sicily. They have sets of knives like steak(a set of 6, for example) and chef’s — 3 sizes. There are individual specialty knives like chop and paring. Most of the chef’s knives are carbon steel. If left to their own devices, they will rust. The staff points this out(frequently). But, in my opinion carbon steel is fine. It will take and hold an edge better than most and will last a lifetime when treated with care. The highlight though are the Damascus steel folding blades. Each one is unique and collectable(check out their website to see). They are priced between € 500 and € 1000. I didn’t go for one of these lovelies, but I did pick up a 10 in. chef’s knife with a bone handle :-)

Rating des Ortes: 5 Paris, France
This knife store must be the best in Paris. Specializing in knives made in Corsica by a manufacturer baring the store’s name, these cutting instruments are true works of art. The store also has a workroom that sharpens and fixes knives.
