This was the very first place my companion and I went to in Paris — we had dropped our luggage inside, went out the courtyard door to smoke(BECAUSETHISISPARIS) and ended up being so enchanted with our street that we cruised up Rue du Temple, took a left on Rue Rambuteau, and were so charmed with Crep Story that we decided to make it our first meal in Paris. I had a lovely hot goat cheese(hot. goat. cheese. just let that sink it) salad while my girl had — as she did at every opportunity — foie gras. And champagne. And then dessert. My girl ordered a caramel crêpe and I was torn between a profiterole and a chocolate crêpe, so the waiter, with his very, very limited English(and my even more limited French) asked me if I liked crepes and said ‘wait, i will bring you,’ and out came a chocolate crêpe with THREE tiny profiteroles on top of it. As long as I live, I will never forget that meal. On our last day in Paris, we tried to go back and eat there again, but alas, it was closed — next time we’re there(next summer, hopefully), it will be our first stop. Fresh, pretty food, kind service, cute atmosphere.

Honestly one of the best crêpe I’ve ever had, and I’ve been living in Paris for 6 months!!! Fresh and yummy products with a great and funny service. Greatly recommended!

Delicious Crêpes and awesome service. In the heart of the Marais there are a bevy of brasseries, but this one shines. The atmosphere is very New York chic.

Ordered a Cesar salad and found a hair in it. Returned it. There were no apologies from the waiter. I didn’t really want a new one. Who would? However, I accepted it because it was presented to me. The chicken appeared fresh on top, however, the salad underneath really looked as if it had been sautéed 2X and recycled. Sorry, I just couldn’t really enjoy the meal.

Had a fine meal here last night after wandering our(temporary) neighborhood for a late dinner. Very friendly server/owner(?) immediately spotted us for Americans and made us feel at home. I had the Sefarade 5 star Galette(crêpe made with buckwheat flour rather than wheat): savory with sausage, emmental cheese, tomatoes and an egg(cooked medium, un-scrambled, in the galette). It was delicious — the sausage providing subtle spices — no salt or pepper needed. My wife’s simple ham galette was also tasty. The server spoke English but was patient and encouraging with my attempts to exercise my minimal French in requesting a simple chicken and cheese crêpe for my very picky 13 yr old daughter. The family friendliness was also evident as he bid fond farewell and kisses to a local family with a young child. We topped dinner with a delicious Mont Blanc crêpe: ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream — we all three devoured it in moments. Including a couple of glasses of house wine the whole thing for three was 46 euros.

The New Yorker — omg. So good. Don’t add salt until you taste it. filled to brimming– couldn’t even finish it. Service was very efficient and friendly. Great value. Try the apple cider brut. Goes well with the meal!

My wife and stopped in for lunch today. Jeffrey the owner was our server. He was extremely nice and the food was excellent. I had the Venice salad and my wife had a sweet crêpe. Also, we shared a White Lady dessert, which was delicious. I highly recommend stopping in for friend service and yummy food!

Highly recommended to us by a friend, Crep Story did not disappoint. At his suggestion, I tried the New York – the supposedly American-style crêpe – and while it failed to evoke memories of home, it was delicious and satisfying — definitely a meal on its own, if there was any question. Served with a small salad, whose peppery greens and sharp, vinegar-y dressing cut the savory crêpe nicely. The banana and chocolate dessert we ordered was over-the-moon, although the crêpe itself was so good that I half-wished we’d gone with the simpler, butter-and-sugar variety. Of the two brothers that run the place, one is more reserved, content at his spot behind the cash register. The other, a gregarious americanophile who prides himself on his English skills, prefers to pace the restaurant and make conversation with his customers. He even insisted on giving us a free digestif at the end of our meal, after I dropped the name of a friend and former regular here. We felt very welcome and cozy, which is saying something for a couple of American tourists in Paris. The ambience leaves just a little to be desired, although it is perfectly acceptable — the modern design is just a touch sterile for my taste. Conveniently located in the Marais, right around the corner from Pompidou center. Slightly pricy, but far from our most expensive meal in Paris. And anyway, the food’s worth it.
