Exceptional establishment. The owners, Varujan and Lida Krisyan, are knowledgeable and warm; no airs or intimidation, despite expertise and discernment — rare for purveyors of fine art and jewelry. Inventory is exquisite (think Schlumberger, Van Clef & Arpels, Cartier) and honed by the proprietor’s third-​generation jeweler heritage. If you’re a jewelry/​fine art devotee, you simply can’t miss Gorky Antiquites. But please don’t buy the diamond/​sapphire/​ruby encrusted bird brooch, as I’m saving up for it. Visit for a museum-​quality experience without pressure but with lots of love. There will be something you can afford, to delight you forever.

Looking for something to avoid the rain and more importantly, the huge museum lines, we had seen posters for an Art Deco Exhibition and decided to seek it out
We expected an art exhibit but were happy to discover this was a lovely Art Deco Estate Sale. Furniture, paintings, statues, sculptures… all in pristine condition & all for sale
Showcased in 2 large rooms, we were led around the items & had a lovely discussion about their circumstance, the material makeup, the certificate price — all items came with a certified assessment and guarantee of authenticity. We were advised shipping was free of charge and there was ample room for price negotiation
I believe this is the same set of hosts for another Art Deco exhibition we had seen posters for, during our last visit to Paris but had not been fortunate enough to attend.
The people we spoke with also advised that in a few years’ time, or any time really, if we wanted to pursue the sale of the items we purchased, they would be happy to work with us to find new homes… but they were so exquisite that I would have a difficult time seeing anyone wanting to let go of these treasures. If you are seeking to add a lovely item to your home collection, these people are extremely eager to make a sale
