Grizzli Café

Horrible service. Insisted we order two meals although everyone around us was just drinking coffee. They try to exploit foreigners. Stay away.

Wedged between the Marais and Les Halles, close to Beaubourg is this great little Bistro/​Café-​Brasserie.
Le Grizzli, a popular bistro for about a century, was taken over by new owners and renamed Grizzli Café. The new ownership has brought with it a more modern décor and menu. I love to try new restaurants, however, I eat here every time I am in Paris.
Basically in the Gayborhood. you can dine late with typical hours of 09:00 — 01:00 am.
My sensory memory will not allow me to forget the roast leg of duck! They offer a house wine with their own label. If you are not familiar with wine or wine pairings they are more than happy to assist you. I have had the house wine and the Malbec which was excellent with the duck. The desserts are fantastic as well. I don’t typically order a pastry or dessert after dinner but they looked so tempting.
I have never asked to be seated upstairs but I have been up to view the dining room and use the WC. I prefer just to sit just inside the front door or on the patio if it is a nice day. This is a touristy area but this is on a side street so be sure to map it.
I have eaten there with Paris locals and with out the locals and the service has always been great. I believe they understand the tourist market and prepare food the is like a home cooked meal with bistro dining flare.
I cannot wait to return and experience Grizzli Café once again.

I was visited Paris for a weekend and was unsure of where to dine for the evening. We walked past this café and saw the menu looked appetizing, so we opted to sit inside. The owner greeted us, sat us and gave us menus. We ordered the ravioli, lamb shank and lamb stew. Everything was homemade, and it was delicious! One of the best meals I’ve ever had. I could definitely taste that it was homemade. The service was great. They also have an English menu, and the owner spoke English which helped a lot.

Angenehme Atmosphäre, netter Service, gute Weinkarte. Preise für die Lage ok. Schöné Terrasse in verkehrsberuhigter Gasse. Schön um entspannt zu reden.

New owners perhaps this year (2014) and many changes. No longer as good or as inviting as before. The new red color scheme and 60/​70s music has changed the atmosphere towards touristy and the food and service leave much to be desired. Sadly, Le Grizzli can no longer be recommended.

Lunch here was great. Very comfortable, dark café downstairs and upstairs more seating, all white, lots of light overlooking the sidewalk.
We had two kids with us (6yo and 12yo) and had no issues with the space or menu. Service was friendly, attentive, and in English once he heard us talking. Thanks for that, Grizzli.
The burger was crazy good and big enough for kids to share plus incredible frites. My husband had the roast chicken which was a bit dry but the gravy more than made up for that. I had a salad with roasted eggplant a and peppers plus goat cheese rolled in prosciutto. A dessert was a lovely cheesecake and something like carmalized banana crepes. All awesome.
The wine offerings were good and affordable and we had a delicious Rhone blend. A this is near our hotel we’ll certainly be coming back. So glad we found it.

Some clients I was working with took me here for lunch. I had a pork dish with a nice creamy sauce and fries. It was very good. I also had a local beer that tasted great. The place is very dark inside and would probably be a good place to take a date if you were there with your better half.

A great find for a rainy Sunday night. The confit de canard and frites were brilliant — really. As a matter of fact, I’d have a difficult time getting something different next time. But maybe the first time is always the best… I don’t know?
For desert I had tatin de pommes which is sort of like apple pie without the crust — served with crème fraîche — it was also very good.
The décor is warm and inviting. Lighting is just right and seating is typically intimate. Service was friendly and well paced and the wine was not overly priced.
Unilocal is fairly reliable in metropolitan areas where it’s well established. I didn’t research Grizzli Café and we more or less stumbled inito a cool situation. Serendipity in finding a nice restaurant is a real high point for me these days. I gotta think about that.
Anyway, if your in the first or sort of on edge of the fourth (heading into the Marais), this is definitely worth checking out. Dinner for 2 with deserts, a bottle and a half of wine, coffee — € 100.

Terrasse agréable pour profiter du beau temps. Pas mal d’affluence.
Les plats sont délicieux et bien dressés. Les produits sont de qualité. Le service est agréable, sympathique et souriant.
Par contre, je trouve ça un peu cher (le plat: entre 16EUR et 20EUR, le dessert: entre 7EUR et 10EUR), mais le rapport qualité/​prix est correct. Je recommande vivement.

Bar à vin tester totalement au hasard au détour d’une rue et pas de n’importe laquelle la rue de Rivoli! J’ai toujours un peu peur dans ce coin de trouver des attrapes touristes! Or là c’est tout le contraire!
Le cadre est très sympa, le thème du grizzli est joué jusque dans la déco par contre aucun ours mal léché né se trouvait parmi les clients ou les serveurs!
Après un tour dans les boutiques on est revenu prendre un verre et les serveurs se souvenaient encore de nous comme si on était de vieux habitués ce qui est très agréable.
On a uniquement pris un verre avec olives, carottes et courgettes marinées en accompagnement offert (il faut le soulever car beaucoup de bars n’offrent même pas une cacahuète…)
Les plats sentaient trop bons donc j’y retournerai volontiers pour les tester! Prochain avis pour bientôt !

Il reste 1 bonne adresse à Châtelet
A deux pas de l’hotel de ville, perdu au milieu des pizzerias maudites et des bars à touristes, reste irreductible, ce petit café-​réstaurant si tendre et généreux. On y mange une cuisine à la fois traditionnelle et créative sans aucun chi-​chi pour des prix raisonnables. Les vins sont choisi avec soin et l’ambiance y est chaleureuse surtout lorsque la jeune patronne s’arrête à votre table pour vous accueillir de son accent légèrement méridional.

Food was bland I got the cod with bean sprouts and she had the chicken with mashed potatoes. They tasted like instant. Food was not seasoned properly. The win was good but it was 33 euro per bottle for the cheap one. Just not worth the money at all.

Un gentil grizzli
Très bon accueil dans ce beau bar situé à quelques rues de l’horrible Châtelet. La terrasse est à taille humaine tout comme le reste de l’établissement. Le prix des boissons est normal pour le quartier (4,5 € le Monaco, environ 5 € le verre de vin…) Je garde dans mon carnet d’adresse.

OH MY GOSH. (I like that another reviewer started out like this as well, that certainly says something). The food here is incredible. We were really really lucky to come here. This place was by far my most favorite meal in Paris. At the beginning of the night we were at another restaurant– we hadn’t been greeted, no menu, the people next to us had been waiting 45 minutes for their food, a waiter just dropped a massive stack of dishes, and more and more people were seating themselves. Nightmare! So we left, and found the most romantic and fantastic place EVER!
Grizzli Café is an intimate little café that provided a warm and relaxing place to wind down after a long day. Everywhere else was packed, usually this isn’t a good sign, but everything here was wonderful. We began with the recommended wine– Château Grazin– Montaigu (I hope I wrote that right). The wine was very very good and light, I loved it! That’s about as specific as I get with wine unfortunately.
My boyfriend ordered the duck skewers with a peanut sauce and I had chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Oh dear lord, when I’m feeling homesick on Thanksgiving I might just book a flight to Paris and have this dish again. It was phenomenal. The chicken was cooked with just the right amount of love! It had a crispy skin and ever so juicy meat. And the gravy– oh the gravy! It was probably the best gravy I’ve ever had, and it complimented the mashed potatoes beautifully. All I can say is wow.
My boyfriend really liked his meal. The duck was tasty and the peanut sauce was very unique. It had extremely bold flavors that were unexpected but very very good.
The meal and service were fantastic. I would most definitely come here again.
Ich liebe Grizzly Café. Das Essen ist mega mega fein. Ich kann nicht glauben wie gut das Essen ist! Ich habe das Henchen mit Bratensauce. Die Bratensauce ist sehr gut und sie ist miene favorite. Das ist kein Thanksgiving hier aber ich kann nach Paris gehen und ich kann das Gericht essen. Ich LIEBE GRIZZLI CAFE. Der Weis ist sehr gut. Wir haben Château Grazin– Montaigu und es ist mega fein. Wir kommen wieder.

Oh my god. Amazing, amazing food. Confit de canard, boeuf tartare, duck fat fries, pistachio crème brûlée, cucumber gazpacho with tomato sorbet… amazing. My best meal in Paris, by far. I went with my friends whose French was not so good and the staff were very accommodating. Mostly French clientele, but it’s in a somewhat touristy area, so expect some fellow tourists. Still definitely worth trying. A lot of food and drink for 30 euro.

nous y avons diné a quatre au premier étage. Le service est souriant, simple et efficace malgré le monde present ce soir la (assez rare pour le quartier). la nourriture était délicieuse nous avons passé un très bon moment. a refaire!

Very friendly and helpful to a couple of confused Americans who just got into town. I recommend the leg of duck, as it may have been the best I’ve ever had. One less star than five because my wife’s duck breast was not quite as good, and the prices were high even for Paris.

Un bon brunch !
Sans prétention mais savoureux ce brunch vous est servi à table. Produits de qualité, un tartare de boeuf (à demander poêlé pour les retissants à la viande crue) divin, possibilité d’être servi en terrasse pour laisser jouer les enfants devant… En bref un brunch très correct niveau prix et très satisfaisant.

C’était bien…
Pour 25 euros en gros on a une salade qui vous cale et quelques verres de rosée…pas mal bon marché… effectivement il faut arriver assez tot pour profiter d’une petite terrasse, depassé 13h c’est plus la peine d’esperer avoir une place en terrasse… à refaire cet hiver…

Les serveurs sont sympas et prendre un verre à cet endroit est agréable.

Mise à jour le 22 Mai 2011. Et encore une fois parfait. Des serveurs simples et souriants. Un cadre calme et reposant pour les fins de journées. Penser à reserver pour la terrasse le soir d’ailleurs. Sinon l’étage est super pour les diners en groupe. Jamais déçu par la cuisine ni les vins. Un favori depuis 2005.

L’étage est calme le soir, la terrasse ensoleillée le midi, les prix plutôt élevés mais la cuisine délicieuse (les roulés au confit de canard en entrée, la souris d’agneau en plat, desserts inventifs). Vins chers au regard du choix disponible. Une bonne adresse très recommandable.

Que du bonheur
Si certaines personnes n’ont pas compris qu’au restaurant l’on si rend pour manger et pas picorer il né faut pas se rendre dans se resto ou tout est parfait. J’espère qu’il né changera pas même si son âme est parti (salut les 3 garçons, A bientôt).

A la bonne franquette
Endroit sympathique et courtois, de plus ils ont une jolie terrasse loin de la circulation. L’ambiance y est très bistrot et le personnel est attentif. L’addition pas trop salée.

Accueil déplorable
Le Grizzly est-​il resté à l’état sauvage? Le décor «Paris 1900» semblait pourtant attractif. Et pourtant, je n’ai jamais été si mal reçu dans un établissement. Les serveurs sont odieux, ils ont refusés de prendre notre commande sous prétexte que nous n’allions pas consommer suffisamment ! Du jamais vu. Faut-​il consommer 60 euros par personne pour être reçu convenablement? Bref, très mauvaise expérience, je n’y mettrai plus les pieds.

Chouette une nouvelle cantine
L’adresse idale pour nous. La situation géographique, la terrasse, le fait de pouvoir laisser notre fille gambader à vue. Et également des plats délicieux, autant les salades copieuses que les plats et surtout surtout un cheesecake à tomber par terre! Le service est attentionné mais discret. Un vrai bonheur.

Gastronomie basco-​béarnaise pour cette petite brasserie aux abords de la rue de Rivoli. Si je suis allé au Grizzli, ce n’est pas forcément pour la réputation de sa carte (pas très originale et un peu chère) ni pour l’accueil chaleureux que l’on y reçoit.
Je voulais simplement profiter de la terrasse qui donne sur une partie piétonne de la rue Saint-​Martin. Mais le serveur m’a un peu gâché mon moment avec son arrogance. Je me poserai ailleurs la prochaine fois.

Le cadre, la déco sympa.
Une bonne carte.
Des patrons très très sympas.
Un bon bistro parisien proche de beaubourg et du marais.
J’y vais depuis longtemps, je n’ai jamais été déçu.

Brunch du dimanche à revoir
Alors pour 22,5 € vous avez: un café double, un petit jus d’orange frais, deux mini viennoiseries pas fraiches, un morceau de pain avec confiture, le choix d’un tartare: saumon ou boeuf. Alors voilà le hic, du gingembre en quantité importante dans le tartare de saumon… cherchez l’erreur ! enfin tout est affaire de goût ! avec pdt sautées… et en dessert, fromage blanc avec confiture de lait. Globalement, rapport quantité prix, vous en avez pour votre argent mais j’avoue avoir été très déçue par le tartare et les viennoiseries… brunch à partir de 12h30…

Si comme moi vous avez eu la chance de manger en terrasse avec un rayon de soleil, alors comme moi vous passerez un très bon moment, mais il faut arriver tôt !!!
C’est un café/​resto assez bon et assez bon marché avec une équipe sympathique !
