3 stars for the overall hotel; 4.5 stars if you are grading based on best hotel for $ 200 a night in the heart of Paris. This quaint hotel is located in the St Germain-de-Pres district in a very lively neighborhood. This is a solid 2-star property if you want a great location at a reasonable price. Nothing fancy, nor ugly here; just small clean room at a good price. The good: location and price. It lies just steps from the hotel is Rue de Buci which has many lively shops, bistro’s and markets. Rooms are basic, but charming. I looked at 4 rooms before picking«55» which had a very charming balcony. Tristan was exceptional at the front desk! The«eh” Nothing was bad. The staff is extremely friendly but not very knowledgeable about the local area.(Tristan couldn’t be there 24⁄7) I asked about 2 restaurants that were literally 20 feet from the hotel, and rest of the staff knew nothing; Semilla and Boissonnerie, are excellent places run by ex-pats. The breakfast was not worth the money when so many great choices are steps away, but I thought it was included in my Price-line deal — it wasn’t. So if you want a reliable hotel in a nice area and feel comfortable doing your own exploring of the city, this is good alternative to the high end places on the right bank.
