Hôtel du Printemps

Das Hotel du Printemps liegt in einem ruhigen und angenehmen Viertel von Paris, nur wenige Gehminuten von den Metrostationen Picpus oder Nation entfernt, also schön zentral. Es gibt ein paar nette Bars und Cafés in unmittelbarer Nähe.
Es sit recht klein, der Empfang sehr nett und hilfsbereit, die Zimmer sind zwar ziemlich klein aber sehr hübsch im Design.
Leider haben die Zimmer nach hinten raus einen Blick in triste Hinterhöfe und man hört/​spürt in den unteren Stockwerken auch das Vibrieren der unterirdisch durchrauschenden Metro.
Aber für ein, zwei Nächte ist dieses Hotel wegen seines angenehmen Preis/​Leistungsverhältnisses dennoch unschlagbar.

I have just returned from staying at this hotel for the past 8 days. I probably would have rated this 4 starts if it hadn’t been under renovation.
The good:
— Friendly staff (with the exception of the Asian woman who cleans the breakfast bar area and seemed very upset that I kept wanting hot water from her) but the front desk people were amazing.
— Clean rooms. Super clean. The housekeeping was exceptional.
— Very affordable
— Free Internet
— Lots of good restaurants nearby
— Located at the Nation metro stop which is a hub and connects to a bunch of metros (probably half of them)
— They have rooms that accommodate 3 people (3 separate twin beds) so it’s good for travelling with a group. It would be a really really good place to stay with 2 friends, the rate would be great split 3 ways.
— EXCELLENT water pressure in the shower. Seriously. It was amazing.
The bad:
— It’s at the Nation metro stop which is pretty far from downtown. It’s a 35m walk from Bastille or Marais districts and a 10−15m metro ride. You have to leave this neighbourhood to get to anything cool. I think it’s a fair trade for the price and cleanliness though.
— When I was staying here they were renovating. It was very annoying. 2 mornings out of 8 I was woken up before 0800 by hammering and sawing and one morning there was no hot water.
— No safe available. I had to carry my passport the entire week 100% of the time because there was nowhere to leave it. Major fail. Money belts are SO uncomfortable when it’s 30 degrees out.
— Hairdryer sucks.
— 8 EUR for continental breakfast. Just go to the bakery around the corner for 1.20 EUR.
— While the internet was free, it was also slow and unreliable. It seemed to work better with my iphone than with my laptop.
Overall, I would probably not stay here again because of the distance to downtown. However, the hotel is very clean and the price was right.

Une très bonne adresse pour les provinciaux à Paris. D’abord pour le tarif obtenu sur internet (plus cher sur place): 67 euros chambre double, 87 chambre triple; puis par la situation: depuis Nation, on va partout car beaucoup de lignes de métro + RER A; puis pour la restauration rapide et pas chère autour (voir mon guide «4 jours à Paris»).
Les chambres ont été entièrement rénovées ou sont en cours de rénovation: en ce moment, 2 étages sont en travaux. Donc, dormeurs s’abstenir car le bruit commence à partir de 8 heures trente. Ca né nous a pas gêné du tout. Le style des chambres est scandinave: tout dans le blanc et le taupe. C’est très propre. Toilettes dans la salle de bain. Serviettes nombreuses et produits corrects .
L’accueil est très sympathique tant du point de vue du «concierge» que du lieu, typé savoie. De beaux fauteuils où se reposer devant une petite télé, magazines nombreux et neufs .
Le petit dej est sous forme de buffet, donc on prend ce qu’on veut: viennoiseries, pains de trois sortes, jambon, oeuf à faire cuire, vache qui rit, confitures, miel, nutella, yaourts …
Bémols: ascenceur poussif et trop petit, rideau de douche en tissu donc «qui colle», shampoing pour les hommes mais pas pour les dames plus chevelues, petites armoires: encore une fois ces dames, on n’emmèné pas sa garde robe parcequ’elle restera dans la valise, demoiselles qui servent le déjeuner forts nonchalantes (genre les aides soignantes du sketch des Inconnus) et pas de toilettes au rez de chaussée: messieurs, prévoir avant le dej si vous né voulez pas remonter dans la chambre et rappel: l’ascenseur n’est pas rapide.
