A lovely boutique hotel! Slightly out of the tourist district, but with plenty of transport options and restaurants, this charming hotel is staffed by lovely people who were always helpful. The room was on the small side, as is to be expected from Paris, but perfectly adequate for us. The room service comes from a restaurant up the road, La Pharmacie. We didn’t get it as room service but enjoyed eating at the restaurant. The air conditioning didn’t get cool enough, and opening the window wasn’t ideal as there was a fair bit of street noise. The area, while seemingly safe, did have a fairly large group of homeless people sleeping in an alley a block down from the hotel. I’d definitely come back to le Mareuil, even with the few niggles!

My first ever trip to Paris, and the staff at the hotel made me feel so welcome! In fact, they were the first impression of the people of Paris and really set the tone for the rest of the trip. A real credit to the hotelier profession. As for the hotel, it is the first one in a while that I have felt like it is legitimately a four star hotel. The hotel and the room were immaculate. While the room was expectedly small, it made great use of the same available. My only criticism is that the air con didn’t get the room as cool as we like. I liked the night gadget thingy, and it certainly the nicest way I’ve been woken up in a while — sure beats my annoying alarm clock at home! All in all, an excellent stay — when I return to Paris, this will be my first choice for a hotel.
