Hotel Pavillion Opéra

It’s a nice hotel. The room was clean, the hotel was quiet, and the service was friendly.
Plenty of great restaurants are nearby, you’re walking distance from the rail station as well as two separate metro lines.

Great location in downtown Paris. UNDER CONSTRUCTION and jackhammers started at 9am (not good when arriving back to he hotel at 730am after a fun night out. Expensive breakfast not worth the 19 euros. Rooms were nice, bathroom nice! No iron in room (they will bring you one). Bottom line, this would be a 4 star if the constant jackhammering would just take a break. Was told we «probably wouldn’t be able to hear the construction from the 4^th floor» when we checked in… ha! Starting at 9am, impossible to sleep.

Room interiors are a little dated but that is more then made up for with excellent staff who couldn’t be more helpful, engaging, polite and accommodating. Can’t wait to stay here again.

This hotel used to be named Holiday Inn Opéra and was bought up a couple of years ago. They did not inform us upon arrival that they were rebuilding most of the floors so the luxury feeling of living in a hotel in town quickly went away. But then again we never heard any noises from the construction workers so it was not that bad. The hotel room was outdated and everything felt old but clean.
The breakfast was simple and not worth € 20/​day. There are scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, baguettes, pain au chocolate, croissants and pain aux raisins and fruit. I would recommend going out to start the day eating a proper breakfast at a bakery of some sort.
All in all, this might not be a hotel for the picky one, but definitely a decent hotel closely located to the metro, bakeries, supermarkets, cinema, etc.
Tips: If you would like to purchase metro tickets the closest station to do so is ‘Strasbourg Saint-​Denis’ metro station. Check the signs when going down to see which exit has the ticket machine.
