Good budget hotel. The rooms were small, but good. It is a good location. It is worth noting that Rue de Bercy is a different road than Boulevard de Bercy. This is about the only issue with the location. Perhaps a description in the address saying(77 rue de Bercy is not 77 boulevard de Bercy would help tourists avoid the confusion when walking from the Bercy Metro Station). There are a few things that I would advise regarding the dining area for breakfast though. These would help in regard to cleanliness: 1) Put signs with clear directions in English, French, and Chinese by each of the automatic coffee makers. There were people struggling how to use them, and this lends itself to excess waste, and did create a mess when a bunch when a tour group of Chinese tourists came through and did not know how to use them. 2) Develop a central location for the collection of used cups, trays, plates, and silverware for diners put things at to aid in bringing things to the kitchen for cleaning(perhaps some kind of a drop off window or a conveyor belt leading into the washing area. This will keep the dining area cleaner and easier to handle. 3) Pay more attention to the cleanliness of the knives. There was a set of silverware at one of the locations, where the«clean» knives were still coated with Nutella(like they had not been washed, or were missed). 4) Setup filling stations for filling of water bottles at the breakfast area. People(tourists), particularly those of Asian background, like to carry water around when they are out and about. They also like to use reusable water bottles, rather than the disposable kind. These are things that I see would help make this easier to manage. It would also free up the staff to focus more on managing the breakfast area.

Value for price excellent. It’s an easy walk to and from the main train station, Gare de Lyon. It’s also very close to the Bercy metro stop. So obviously I disagree with the fellow who says it’s not close to anything. The staff is English speaking and service oriented. They were friendly and very helpful when we were looking for help regarding finding some services. This is not a glamorous hotel but the mattress and linens were clean and fresh, the room clean and quiet. And the breakfast is absolutely awesome! This hotel is close to an Omnisport stadium, and many young athletes stay here with coaches and teachers. So they have a huge breakfast room with loads of choices and lots of fresh breakfast food, at two breakfast bars. The hotel also is kind of kooky/hip through a very stylish and graphic color scheme and furniture. The rooms are not massive but hell, you’re in Paris! There was room for us and our luggage, and just steps from a few minutes metro ride to tourist attractions and museums. One more thing– great neighborhood cafés. It’s a boho area with kabob places and one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve EVER dined in, I think it’s called Venezia. Anyway, why go broke and see loads of American tourists, when you have an option like this?
