Disclaimer: Consider where you are. You are Looking to eat in one of the most touristy and visited areas of Paris. With this in mind, this restaurant is at least 4 stars for where it is, the experience, and the food. It is really more of a 3 star elsewhere in Paris, but we had good food, with reasonable service, and for its location wouldn’t recommend you eat somewhere else if you’re in this area.

Again, spontaneity is key to any travel adventure. We walked into this place, and realized it was a bar with live singing and a piano-​style that I could only describe as French Ragtime. Tipsy folks were singing along, tourists and French natives alike. The Escargot, Duck confit and everything classic French that made up the menu, was delicious. What a discovery. Next time, I’m singing! (after a few beers maybe)

Also part of the epic June 2013 birthday week spectacular. We took the subway up to Monmartre one day to check out the views and various artists. It was absolutely pouring, but you’re in Paris, so who cares. Finally decided on this place, God forbid I rush any food decision, even when we are soaking wet and starving — I am such a PITA.
But we did good making this selection, though it seemed you couldn’t really go wrong in Paris. We had French onion soup for the first time while it Paris, again, so much better than most variations we’ve had here — lighter on the cheese. Also had this sardines pâté, you either love or you hate sardines, I think they are more manageable in pâté form. I can’t make out the rest of the meal, but again, we really didn’t have a bad meal in Paris. We did end the meal with this wonderful cassis dessert, may have almost been like a cheesecake but lighter. And as usual, there was enough great wine to complete the meal. Also seems a coffee was ordered, kinda odd as neither one of us drinks coffee.
While you’re up there to check out the view, small shops and artists, you can’t go wrong with a stop at La Bonne Franquette. Yet another fantastic meal in Paris.

Vieillot dans la déco mais très grand restaurant situé non loin de la place du Tertre. L’accueil n’est franchement pas très accueillant et plutôt long pour un samedi midi, les plats sont des spécialités françaises (ce n’est pas de la grande gastronomie) mais ils sont corrects. Les prix sont exorbitants 56 € pour 2 enfants et 2 adultes sans alcool, sans dessert et sans entrée. Ce n’est pas un resto qui restera gravé dans mes annales.

I was also directed here by a guide, but it was one of the best meals I had in Paris. The waiter was fantastic, the house wine wasn’t bad, and the food was great. I was only in the city for a few weeks, so my range of experience is admittedly limited, but I enjoyed the escargot and duck a l’orange here more than any other place I tried them. I was also told a number of famous artists used to frequent here when they lived in the Latin Quarter, but I have no way of knowing if this is factual. Still very much worht a visit.

The onion soup is fantastic and the pasta is light and fluffy. Don’t hesitate to visit here. You will be happy, even for a quick jaunt. Live music inside, but sit on the balcony…

La bonne déception
Mardi 6 Novembre 2012, 21H07. Nous nous présentons (2 personnes) dans ce restaurant dont j’ai entendu parler en très bien par différents médias et particulièrement dans une émission de Jean-​Luc Petitrenaud qui nous avait mis l’eau à la bouche. Accueil sans chaleur: ”on né sert plus”. Croyant à une plaisanterie, je demande où pouvons-​nous nous installer (le restaurant était à peu près à moitié plein). Même réponse sans aucune sympathie: il n’y a pas assez de clients, c’est trop calme ce soir, donc on ferme ! Pendant que je cherchais une place pour me garer, dix minutes avant, j’avais vu un couple entrer dans le restaurant. Et bien, les affaires doivent être très florissantes s’ils n’ont pas besoin de travailler ! A cette heure de la soirée, dans un quartier aussi touristique, je né comprends pas. En tous cas, je regrette de n’avoir pu profiter de ce restaurant et il est sûr que cette aventure restera en mémoiré pour mes prochains repas à Paris.

Très bonne adresse à Montmartre !
Nous nous y sommes rendus à 3 et l’accueil est très chaleureux. Le personnel fait preuve d’une très grande amabilité et le service très efficace. La cuisine est traditionnelle française et de qualité. Les plats sont délicieux et les aliments très frais. La seconde salle est grande et accueille des groupes mais le niveau sonore reste étonnament bas ! Le repas est accompagné de musique dans cette salle et cela rend l’expérience très agréable ! Je recommande vivement ce restaurant, très bien situé dans le quartier de Montmartre !

Santa Ana, CA
This is a nice restaurant located in Montmartre. Our tour guide from Trafalgar took us here for our last night in Paris. We were not disappointed.
Few things on our menu were: escargot, french onion soup (much better here than in the US where it’s usually salty and too much cheese), bœuf bourguignon (beef stew), duck confit with orange sauce, chocolate cake for dessert and the wine was delicious.
I would recommend visiting this restaurant if you are visiting the Montmartre area.

Un cadre magnifique typique du quartier, retrouvez y toute la magie de Montmartre autour d’un bon plat et d’une bonne bouteille. Terrasse très agréable, personnel disponilbe et à l’écoute, cuisine familiale, tarif accessible, une cave riche, bref un condensé de bonnes choses, je recommande TRES fortement :)

I also was on a tour when I visited this place. € 29 for the whole experience, how much better can it get
It’s a cute little place located near the basilica and in a cute and classy location. That does sound a bit like an oxymoron since basically all of Paris is classy but this is especially worth mentioning.
The place just looks so cute. It’s beyond words.
My meal went something like this:
1. Escargots. Thanks to the waiter for being patient and showing me how to eat them, as I had to crush the shell apart that one time (LOL!!!). and I got an exta plate! Yay! That said they were sooooooo yummy.
2. Boeuf Bourginon. Holy crap, that was yummy. They served it on mashed potatoes and it just melts in your mouth.
3. chocolate Cake. A simple desert French style. Absolutely delicious.
Alright, the brie I could have dine without, but that doesn’t matter.
And the wine. Hot damn, the wine. I downed an entire bottle of that stuff it was so yummy.
Simply put, this is the perfect French restaurant. Do NOT pass up the opportunity to go if you’re ever in Paris.

Our tour manager made dinner reservations here and it is was totally a Parisian experience. There were several group parties there at the time, but we were seated with an entertaining and engaging pianist that put some restaurant musicians in New York to shame.
1. Onion soup — the way it should be. Light on the cheese and not too heavy.
2. Duck a l’orange — very flavorful, meat was cooked well enough that it falls off the bone but not dry.
3. Chocolate cake — who doesn’t like chocolate cake?
If I go back to Paris, I would definitely hike all the way back up to Montmartre just to eat there again. But next time, I’ll try the duck confit.

Notre tour manager fait des réserves dîner ici et il est a été totalement une expérience parisienne. Il y avait des parties de plusieurs groupes, mais nous étions assis avec un pianiste merveilleux qui rendent certains musiciens restaurant à New York à la honte.
1. Soupe à l’oignon gratinée — savoureux et délicieux.
2. Cuisse de canard rôtie à l’orange confite — très savoureuse, la viande a été faite assez bien qu’il tombe de l’os, mais pas sèche.
3. Gâteau au chocolat — qui n’aime pas les gâteaux au chocolat?
Si je retourne à Paris, je serais certainement randonnée tout le chemin vers Montmartre juste pour y manger à nouveau. Mais la prochaine fois, je vais essayer le confit de canard.

empfang: netter empfang des kellners, eher dezenter vom chef.
lokal: die weinbar ist im gleichen gebäude wie das restaurant gelegen, hat 4 tische und ist sehr gemütlich.
auswahl: sehr grosse weinkarte, preise eher hoch.
empfehlenswert:
zum wein eine kleine käseplatte. nicht nehmen: der viel zu dick geschnittene schinken.

La bonne franquette…
Porte très bien son nom. L’accueil et le service sont impeccables. La carte très variée permet de trouver un plat à son goût et la carte des vins est encore plus large. Le décor basé sur le terroir de notre belle province nous met d’hors et déjà en appetit. A recommander à tous les bons vivants…
