Courez-y !!!

Yeah, this is the place. This is the place that when you wonder what day to day wine and drinking culture is like in Paris you picture. This is the place when you daydream about having a wine shop you dream about having. This is the place you wish was your own wine version of Cheers. This is the place you wish was on your street. This is my favorite wine shop I have ever visited. Great selection generally in the 15 — 35 euro range, but mostly in the 15 — 20. Rhone Valley seems to dominate and I believe the common thread was that they were all natural wines(in short more than organic, close to bio dynamic, picked by hand and only natural yeasts used amongst other restrictions…) Add seven euro and the owner will give you a glass, a plate of whatever charcuterie and cheese he and his wife have in the back, and a place to sit and have your bottle. There isn’t a more perfect place to sit on a small winding Parisian street and contemplate nothing at all while the world carries on without you.

This place was great. My wife and I went to Paris and stayed at a hotel around the corner from Quincave. The staff spoke english was very knowledgeable and friendly. While Quincave isn’t a restaurant and is more of a wine shop than bar, they are happy to open your wine and they sell small charcuterie and pâté plates. My wife and I had wine and charcuterie here on a few low key nights. The prices here were also very reasonable — with bottles ranging from € 15 and up. Highly recommend this place if you’d like to try some off the beaten path French wines without breaking the bank.

Cute wine cellar stocked with wine from the floor to the ceiling. Seemed to specialize in red wine. This store can get crowded at times — for a reason! Nice selection.
